7 Outfits That Sonam Kapoor Copied From Hollywood
Sonam Kapoor is often hailed as India’s biggest fashionista who is known for her bold, unconventional, offbeat style statements. From Dior to Elie Saab to Anamika Khanna, her wardrobe has it all – dresses and outfits from top-notch designers from across the globe. She even collects vintage clothes and no it’s not weird, she is a fashionista after all. She is also one of the few Bollywood celebrities who gets personal invites for couture fashion weeks by Elie Saab and Jean Paul Gaultier. Though there’s nothing home to talk about her acting prowess, she surely does make heads turn on the red carpet. Though her style is hailed as iconic, there are many outfits that she has gotten “inspired” from Hollywood divas. Here are some examples. Also, do tell us who wore it better?
1. Sonam Kapoor and Amy Adams in Prabal Gurung’s design. Sonam Kapoor shows a bit of cleavage in this low cut beautiful pastel dress, but Amy Adams wore it before Sonam at the NY premiere of her movie “Her.”
2. Sonam Kapoor and Jennifer Lopez in Gucci couture. Sonam Kapoor wore the dress to the HELLO! Hall of Fame Awards 2011 where she bagged the Face of the Year award. Jennifer Lopez wore it to the Met Gala in 2011. The outfits are not ditto – but they are similar.
3. Sonam Kapoor and Jennifer Lawrence in Dior’s strapless white dress. Jennifer Lawrence wore this Dior outfit to Lionsgate Hunger Games Catching Fire event whereas Sonam appeared in the same outfit for the photoshoot of Business of Fashion 500.
4. Sonam Kapoor and Kelly Brooks in earthy-toned polka dot dress from Top Shop. Sonam Kapoor wore it to one of Aisha promotions whereas Kelly Brooks looked pretty in the polka dots when she went out for a shopping trip.
jomol, i am loving these posts….well sonam seems to have picked up stuff from same designers, by coincidence or by choice but Deepika seemed to replicate the designs! i think deepika looked best in cannes wearing a saree, she has her own persona she shouldn’t copy nay hollywood celebrity!
Sonam looks way prettier than her holly counterparts in the dresses (nope I`m not being blindly patriotic) 😛 – esp in the jennifer lawrence dress – cause she`s tall ,has beautiful undamaged hair (just needs to loose a bit of weight from her thighs ) – otherwise – I think she carried them off pretty well. It`s hard to do so as Indians tend to be curvier – but she did it – great post – we all can pick up some pointers from here. *shy* *shy*

Sonam rocked every outfit in this one 🙂 but I did not like her second outfit though *nababana* I looooved her at cannes this year *jai ho* her ball gown definitely got me oggling *drool* *drool*

Jomo… I m loving this new series u hav started… Though deepika carried off the dresses with aplomb….. I cant say this for sonam… Except for pic 5 and 7…. I dont think she carried anyone of them well
