I have loved Tina Fey and Amy Poehler since their Saturday Night Live days; both are hilarious and talented ladies. When I learned they will be hosting these Golden Globes, I was overjoyed! But I never expected of all the dresses on that evening Tina Fey’s green dress will stay with me long after the show. So, I searched its details online and found that it was a L’Wren Scott custom made dress. During the search, I also found this blue version by the same designer on Amber Heard. I really wanted to incorporate the colors into an eyemakeup but was not sure regarding which to use as both colors looked lovely, so I decided why not use both as inspiration and this is what I came up with!

I get sneeze-fits when I pluck hair from my eyebrows so whenever I use concealer to define my arches and that goes a long way in giving a very neat look, especially in flesh, the camera always highlights the minutest of hair! I also brushed some black through my brows to give them a darker look. Now, let’s get started with the eyeshadows.

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

Step 1:

I placed a blue-based teal cream eyeshadow with gold shimmer in it over my eye lid and blended out along the crease.

Step 2:

I then used a dark green and placed it all over the teal color.

Step 3:

Next, I used a green with a yellow undertone very lightly to blend out the crease area. The yellow toned green will help in tying the colors, as I will place a golden color on my brow bone. The gradient and blending is easier when a yellow-based color is placed next to golden.

Step 4:

I then placed a gold below the brows and blended it in with the green.

Step 5:

Then, I used some clear brow gel and placed it with my finger over the entire lid area and then before it dried placed some blue glitter with the fluffy brush.

Step 6:

Using a more precise brush, I first placed some green cream eye shadow on lower lash line and followed it with the dark green color. I also applied some kajal and smoked it out onto the green a bit.

Using a cello tape, which has been placed and removed on the hand twice or so to dull the adhesive, is the most excellent way to get rid of any glitter fall out. Just “stick” it over the cheek or anywhere you want to remove glitter and remove the tape. It also helps with clearing eyeshadow fall out.

Next, I applied some mascara and liquid eye liner on the upper lid and that is it, the look is complete!

This is how it looked without a flash. The flash tends to bring out the “blue-ness” more.

So, that was my take on it, I really wished I had added some black eyeshadow on the outer V and smoked it out more, but it struck me very late. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed recreating this look. I feel more love for the dress after this. I love the award season for the brilliant showcase of colors and the creativity it inspires! I’m so looking forward to more beautiful and unique dresses.

I hope you all liked this look and until next time, Happy Makeuping!
