5 Days of Fun with Lotus Herbals: Day 5- OPULENCE Botanical Eyeliner

by Rati on March 15, 2010 · 33 comments

I know this review should have come a few days back but I wanted to give this one a little more time before putting up the review.

What does Lotus Herbal Botanical Eyeliner claim?

  • Water Proof
  • Botanical Extracts

UNIQUE FEATURES:

  • Lasts all day, doesn’t smudge or flake.
  • Gives strength to lashes.
  • Relax eyes & promote strength of luxurious lashes..
  • It has a Pen tip for easy and accurate application.

Lotus Eyeliner

Price : Rs 180 (Indian Rupees)

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:

  • Almond Oil : Excellent emollient & nourishing properties. Natural source of Vitamin E.
IMBB One Lakh Prize Money Fashion Contest
  • Camphor : Cooling effect on eyes.

Number of shades available : Black

Why should you by Lotus Herbals Botanical Eyeliner? (my review)

Makeup and Beauty Forums
  • The camphor present in the liner gives a very nice cooling effect on your eyelids. The cooling effect is very temporary but it feels really nice- similar to what Lotus Herbals kajal gives.
  • It does not smudge.
  • It’s ashy black. If you are not too fond of intense blacks, this might work for you.
  • It does not smudge.
  • Have worn it many days and it has lasted me all day long. Might vary for you depending on how oily your lids get during the day.
  • Comes off without any extra effort.
  • The liner does not make my lids feel dry or irritable.
  • Has a felt tip, which gives a better control.
  • Is natural.
  • It’s the most adorable and cutest bottle of liner I have ever come across. :P

Eyeliner Lotus

Why should you NOT buy Lotus Herbals Botanical Eyeliner?

  • It has a felt tip.If you are used to of using brushes, you might find it difficult to use. I didn’t find it difficult to use because I have also used Lakme’s eye artist in past.
  • The liner is not very black. I like the intense blacks but that’s again a preference.
  • It dries matte. If you like your liners to be glossy and shiny, this might not interest you.

IMBB Rating: 3/5

This also comples my 5 day series on Lotus Herbals. Hope you enjoyed it. I have also received their tinted moisturizer, which I would review soon. :)

PS: The product in this entry was sent to me by company for consideration.

I am abigger fan of this because of its cuteness and coolness. I mean I have never used a liner that fe els cool on lids. It’s fun to give it a try atleast once. :)

Packaging looks cute but I don’t like using that type of pen tip. Good pricing though

I know a lot of people are not comfortable using pen tips but these days most companies have these felt tip liners. :) Wonder who gave them the idea.

Pen tips are not very smooth like a brush, but the precision is so good..

Hey.. I think the pen tip is good to define boundaries.. the area within can be filled out by the kohl pencils.. and the waterlines.. At least this is what I do.. I even have a felt pen tip eyeshadow by Maybelline.. The application is so much easier and I can define lids and creases like never before.. I love the Lakme eye artist pen and I will surely try this out..

Mrummayee,

I also like felt tips . In fact that’s the reason I like Lakme eye artist as well but some of friends just cannot get used to these felt tips. They like their traditional thin brushes. I mostly use kajal and pencil liners mainly because I am not too fond of defined lines but with eyeshadows liquid liners work the best. So I keep just one liquid liner with me. Now I have two, yay! :)

Btw loved the tip. Will try. :)

i like the packaging a lot. so cute. the bottle is like the maruti swift of eyeliners. :D
i am generally not fussy about how black my black liner is. in fact, an ashy or charcoal colour seems much more pleasing to me.
when a felt tip is used for the first few times, it usually tugs at the lids. but then the hands get used to the whole idea and relent.

Today was a hilarious day. I was laughing whole day at Sarah’s comments and now you. Maruti Swift???? :D I need to enter your brain to understand how the heck do you think about things…I mean the things . :D

I guess you gonna like this liner then. Seems to fit perfectly there. :)

Hi Ananya, welcome to my blog. :)

here are a few tips:

1. Apply your eye makeup after you have worn the lenses.
2. You may use any kind of liner (liquid, pencil, gel)depending on what are you comfortable with. Just make sure that all your eye makeup is waterproof from mascara (especially) to liner etc.
3. I am sure you must be carrying your lenses case and the solution bottle with you. I used to wear lenses so I always used to keep a small solution bottle and a lens case with me for any kind of emergency.

As such nothing much that you need to be careful with except that keep your makeup waterproof.

Hi, would you recommend applying this on the lower lid?

Reply

Rati March 26, 2010 at 1:43 pm

Lower lashline yes but not on water line. It would be tacky that ways. :( Apply kajal on waterline.
