6 Quick and Easy Steps for Looking Great on a Busy or Lazy Day

Hi everyone,

Today’s post is about something that I think most of us will find very useful. While I love a long and elaborate beauty and skincare routine, taking time to put those beauty and makeup products on my face, the truth is that on most days, I just don’t have that kind of time. And on the rare occasions, when I do have the luxury of time, I’m just too lazy to be bothered with an elaborate beauty routine. I’m sure most of you will be able to relate to this—it’s always either a busy day or a lazy day, but even then, on most occasions, we want to look put together and great. So, I’ve compiled a list of six quick and easy steps that will help you look great and look like you made an effort to look the way you do, but actually it won’t take much time or effort at all! Let’s take a look at these steps:

Busy day

1. Style the hair:

The way you style your hair can make a huge difference to how your finished look turns out. Take a few minutes to get your hair in order. If it’s too greasy, spray in some dry shampoo and tie it into a slick ponytail. If it’s freshly washed, just give it a few curls at the bottom for some volume and a finished look. Go for something quick and simple.

2. Prep your skin:

Cleanse your skin in your preferred way and follow it up with a serum and moisturizer for an extra boost of radiance and hydration. Skip your foundation on these lazy and busy days, and go for something quick and easy like a tinted moisturizer or a BB or CC cream. This will even out your skin tone, hydrate and replenish the skin and will still look natural. If you don’t have the time for sunscreen, the SPF in these products will see you through on such days.

3. Bronzer/Blush/Highlighter:

The next step is to add colour and radiance to your skin for a naturally-healthy look. On days that are lazy or busy, these three products—bronzer, blush and highlighter—can be your best friends. You need not use all three if you’re rushed or don’t feel up to it. Take your pick from among these to add that colour and glow back to your skin. I’d recommend opting for cream products for easy application and a natural finish.

4. Brows and eyelashes:

Filling in and defining your brows and adding mascara to your lashes can really frame your face and make you look put together instantly. If you’re running short of time, a tinted brow gel is a great option to add some colour, definition and hold to your brows. Opt for a super black mascara to define your eyes and make you look beautifully awake.

5. Lips:

As the last step of your beauty routine, you want to add some moisture, colour and shine to your lips. On lazy and busy days, you want to stay away from matte lipsticks, liquid lipsticks and other lip products that require precise application or even regular touch-ups. The best bet on such days would be a tinted lip balm or a tinted lip oil. It’s quick, easy and can instantly brighten up your face to finish your makeup look.

6. Outfit:

Finally, you need to pick out a fuss-free and easy but chic and elegant outfit to make you look put together. My tip for this would be to go for colours, fits and designs that you already know look great on you. But the most important thing, I would say, is to be comfortable in what you wear. That’s really the easiest and the best way to look great in whatever you choose to wear.
