7 Eye Makeup Products You Need This Festive Season

Hi everyone,

In keeping with the last few posts on the festive season that I have written, here’s another on the eye makeup products you need for just about any look you’d like to create this festive season. If you’re starting out with makeup or if you’re simply overwhelmed by the number and variety of eye makeup products out there, then I hope that this post will be of some use to you.

These eye makeup products that are listed below can be used all year round for any occasion, whether you’re looking to create a basic neutral eye makeup look or a glamorous smoky eye look.

Let’s take a look at what these seven products are.

1. A black liquid eyeliner:

To define your eyes, a black liquid eyeliner is an essential. During the festive and party season, there’s nothing better than a winged eyeliner, which is best created with a black liquid eyeliner. Try going for a waterproof and long-lasting formula. A pen eyeliner is my preference in terms of how easy it is to use, but you can choose from the many variants available. A black gel eyeliner can also work just as well.

Recommendation: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner or Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner.

2. A warm neutral eyeshadow palette:

An eyeshadow palette is a great investment in terms of value for money. It is also a great way to create multiple eyeshadow looks using only one product. A warm neutral eyeshadow palette is great for both the festive season and for the everyday. Choose one that has an impressive collection of mattes and shimmers and shades of browns, nudes and gold. The pigmentation of the shadows is another factor to take into consideration.

Recommendation:  Urban Decay Naked (1) Eyeshadow Palette

3. A soft brown pencil eyeliner:

For a softer everyday look and to define your eyes without the harshness of a black eyeliner, a soft brown pencil eyeliner works best. You can smudge it out for a subtle smoky look or leave it sharper and defined if you prefer it that way. A brown eyeliner is a great alternative to a black one.

Recommendation:  MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy

4. A n*de eyeliner:

To use along the waterline of your eyes, to highlight the inner corners of your eyes, and to use as a brow bone highlight, a nude eyeliner works best. It instantly makes your eyes look brighter and more awake. It’s also much more natural in appearance than a white eyeliner, which can look stark.

Recommendation:  RimmelScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in N*de.

5. A lengthening and volumising mascara:

A mascara is a must-have for just about any eye makeup look that you choose to create. Pick a formula that is both volumising and lengthening at the same time for extra definition and drama. There’s no going wrong with an intense black mascara. A waterproof mascara will help hold the curl better and won’t smudge/smear through the day.

Recommendation: Clinique High Impact Mascara

6. A black kohl pencil:

A black kohl pencil or kajal can be used in the waterline or as a pencil eyeliner either by itself or along with any other eye makeup look that you create.

7. An eyelash curler:

Finally, an eyelash curler is a must-have in your eye makeup collection. It lifts the lashes and instantly makes you look more awake and put together. Use it before applying mascara or even by itself on the day you don’t wish to wear any mascara, and you’ll see that it makes a huge difference!

Recommendation:  Shu Umera Eyelash Curler
