Hi my beauties, how have you all been doing? In today’s article, I will be telling you about some amazing hacks that you can try out to make your features appear sharper and also hide your flaws. We all want to achieve that “celebrity perfect features” and makeup, and with the Kardashians and Jenners demonstrating it to perfection, highlighting and contouring is going to be your saviour. So without further ado, let’s jump straight into the hacks.
1. Petroleum jelly as highlighter:
Runway models and makeup artists swear by this trend. And for this, you don’t even need any expensive highlighter, just our good old petroleum jelly will do the trick. All you have to do is find the high points of your face and body where you want to attract attention and softly swipe a bit of petroleum jelly on the bridge of your nose or the high points of cheeks and watch them stand out and shimmer.
2. Get rid of that double chin:
We hate that double chin that pops out after a mindless few weeks of binge eating. But fret not, your highlighters and bronzers will come to your absolute rescue when you want to hide it. All you need to do is apply bronzer or darker contour shade on the unwanted extra part that bulges out and dab some highlighter or very light coloured concealer on the jaw bone and chin. All that is left is some perfect blending and that is how you can say hello to that super sexy sculpted face.
3. Make those eyebrows appear super arched:
It is no secret that it is your eyebrows that give all of your face a structure and we are often not truly happy with how they look. To make them stand out, all you need to do is use some concealer. First, fill in your brows with a brush or pencil, then line the lower and upper arch with a light coloured concealer. Once you are done with that, add some highlighter below the outer edge of your eyebrows. That way you can get superbly highlighted and shaped eyebrows in minutes.
4. Get an even-worthy nose:
Nose contouring has now become the biggest trend in Hollywood. No need for expensive nose jobs, all you need to do is get your brushes, dark contouring colour, highlighter, and a lighter shade of concealer. Draw two line down the sides of your nose starting from the inner corner or your brow bone and create a u shape at the tip of the nose. Use a lighter highlight shade in the middle and blend it away to perfection. Add a bit of shimmery highlight to the bridge of your nose for the final finish that will make your features stand out all the way.
5. Add that zing in your eyes:
Even after doing the perfect eye makeup with the perfect eyeshadow and winged liner, do you feel that your eyes are still not looking completely opened up? Worry not, all you have to do is add a bout of shimmery highlighter on the inner corner of your eyes and watch your eyes wake up like magic. Not only that, adding a dot of highlighter to the centre of your eyelids, will give you that elusive ‘8 hours of sleep’ look with the perfect amount of brightness added.
6. Making your lips appear fuller:
Fuller lips have always been on trend, from Angelina Jolie to Kylie Jenner. Now you can fake your full lips too, by adding a dash of highlighter on your cupid’s bow. After completing your foundation routine, add highlighter in the centre of your cupid’s bow and then line your lips and apply lipstick or your gloss as per your choice. You will find that you have twice as full lips as you had before.
7. Add some dimension to your forehead:
Sometimes too much of contouring will end up making your forehead look flat which is a common beauty blunder associated with applying too much of bronzer. Hence all you need to do to add some dimension to your forehead is highlight it. Use a fan brush and keep the strokes as sheer as possible. A shimmery powder added to your forehead will make your entire face stand out.
