Alba Botanica Good and Clean Dual Textured Exfoliating Towelettes Review

Hello all,

At the onset, let me tell you that I am someone most comfortable using a cotton ball and cleanser for cleaning my face. But having read some rave reviews about cleansing wipes on IMBB, I decided to give them a try. I came across these towelettes from Alba Botanica at my local drugstore and what impressed me was it exfoliates as well as cleanses and tones. Plus does not contain parabens, SLS or other synthetic fragrances. Since, Alba Botanica is a fairly known drugstore brand in the US, I decided to give them a try. Read on to find out more.

Use rough side to gently exfoliate face and neck. Use smooth side to wipe clean and tone. There’s no need to rinse. Tightly reseal pack after each use.

My Experience with Alba Botanica Good and Clean Dual Textured Exfoliating Towelettes:

Packaging:  The towelettes come in a simple white packaging with bold blue, green and red print. The packaging is similar to other wipes/cleansing cloths and is pretty handy. It has a transparent flap which needs to be opened to pull out a towelette. Care needs to be taken to close the flap correctly or else you will end up losing all moisture from the towelettes.

Fragrance: The towelettes have a refreshing fragrance which is a mix of citrus and apple. I love it. It is not too overpowering and I am sure those with sensitive noses will not mind it.

Texture/Performance:  I have a combination skin – my T-zone is oily and my cheeks are normal. So, I am always attracted towards products meant for combination skin. These towelettes are non-comedogenic which means they are oil free and hence perfect for someone with skin like mine.

The towelettes are pure white in color and the sheets are big enough to cover the face and neck. They stretch pretty well and do not tear while using them.

The USP of these towelettes is that they are dual textured – you have to use the slightly rough side for exfoliating and then follow up with the smoother side to cleanse. Note that the difference in the sides is not really visible to the eyes and can only be felt. Hence, I could not capture it in the photo.

I found that it exfoliates pretty well and leaves my skin smooth. It even visibly reduced the appearance of blackheads on my nose. A word of caution though – the exfoliating beads are a little too harsh for my liking and I would recommend that you do not overdo the exfoliating using these. I was left with reddish skin the first time I used this. But, now I know when to stop. The cleansing/toning side has a calming effect on the skin and your skin feels toned and refreshed.

Overall, these towelettes clean your face thoroughly and leave you with smoother, refreshed skin. It succeeds in wiping away all my makeup and the dirt/grime accumulated throughout the day. The smooth side is pretty gentle on the skin and does not irritate at all. I like that the towelette does not leave any residue on the face and you can actually forgo washing your face post using this.

Since, you should not be exfoliating daily, you can use only the smooth side on a daily basis. But, it is nice to have a 2-in-1 product which can be used on the go. It has been now added to my checklist of must-haves for travel/vacation.

Yes, I would surely recommend you to try this product as it is quite convenient way of cleaning and exfoliating your face. I might not repurchase but will try some other towelettes from the same brand.
