Ask IMBB Gang

Pratixa Asks:

Hi,

I would like to post a question for all the IMBBians out there. So, my query is which is the best toner for oily skin, preferably alcohol free. I have terribly oily skin with whiteheads, so I’m looking for a toner which could help diminish the whiteheads.

Thank you.

Pratixa,
You can try FabIndia Rosewater or their TeaTree Toner.
I have oily-normal combi skin, and they work great.

You could go for the Biotique toner. They have one whose name I forget but it’s got cucumber and it smells quite minty too. I’ve used it during sticky monsoon months and it’s proved to be pretty good.

I have used and then stopped using toners because they leave a darkening effect on the skin. How would you recommend TBS for solving that issue?

TBS Aloe toner is alcohol free and great for sensitive skins as its very soothing..does not make you look oily yet keeps your skin well balanced and supple! It comes at Rs.540 and will last easily for 3-4 months. Fab India’s rose water is great too! Comes at Rs.175 and will last a month

Rose water+ 1-2 drops of essential oil. Lavender and tea tree essential oils are quite good for a toner.

I would say that ‘The body shop seaweed clarifying toner’ is the best for oily/combo. give it a shot. You’ll like it. All the best!

Hi Pratixa! I would suggest using pure rose water by fabindia or Kama Ayurveda.
Also, if you have the time you can try this awesome homemade toner recipe by Parita: http://makeupandbeauty.com/homemade-green-tea-ice-facial-essential-oils-toner/

Pratixa,

Try the VICHY toner, I have super sensitive skin, and I switched from Clnique to this, and Ive been happy with it so far. Alcohol might be alrght in the toner, but only if your skin isn’t sensitive. If you’re breaking out, you might want to try something gentler. Good luck!

I’m not sure if it contains alcohol, but the L’oreal Pure Zone deep control anti-acne gel is super effective. It takes away the oilness in your skin (i usually apply on my t-zone) and you can see the effects on the same or next day. I doesnt dry out ur skin, otherwise ur skin kinda gets soft. I super recommend this.
And if you have a sensitive skin towards whiteheads, believe me, you’ll see how they decrease in few days.
