Blossom Kochhar’s Aromamagic: One of my favourite brand

All the beautiful ladies of the oily skin club this is for you. I recently purchased these three products which work fab for oily skin. I am totally loving this. I also splurged on a lot of other aromamagic products. I like this brand because everything by this brand is so gentle. But please don’t expect any aroma. I guess you will have to buy her essential oils for aromatherapy. These are just regular products with similar packaging and almost similar quantities and price.  I am not so happy with packaging though .So commonplace.
Mint cleanser for Oily Skin: Rs 95 for 50 grams
Aroma Magic Mint cleanser for oily skin
What the pack says: A
100% soap free cleanser. Contains light non oily anti bacterial active ingredients for rapid and effective cleansing of oily and blemished skin. Removes dirt and make up. Leaving skin fresh and tingling clean. Excellent for oily and seborrhoea condition (means excessive sebum production)

Directions of use: Dampen skin, apply cleanser with a little water and massage gently wipe off with damp cotton or sponge. Use morning and night. Hydrogel Aromamagic Active ingredients: natural extracts if peppermint, spearmint, clove, pineapple, neem, garlic and pure essential oils of juniper, rose, ylang ylang and rosemary

I had to pick this up as it carries that oily skin tag. The above description on the pack is exactly what I feel! Every word written on the pack is true. I love mint flavour and this product has a very cooling effect and has a strong aroma of peppermint oil. It does not lather but is in a cream form.

What I love about this product :
  • The fresh strong minty/ clovy smell
  • Extremely cooling effect on skin
  • Need a 1 rupee coin size amount
  • Dilutes on wet face
  • Shiny creamy texture which may feel oily on hands but mixes with a few drops of water
  • You will be surprised that this cream cleanser leaves skin squeaky clean even on oily skin.
  • Removes light make up from skin (keep it away from eyes as it has strong peppermint/spearmint/ clove)
  • Skin feels super clean. Oil free but still so moisturised at the same time
  • The aroma soothes senses after a long day(aromatherapy)
  • Definitely good for oily skin for removing oil
  • Comes off easily with wet facial sponge
  • I love the ingredients
  • Does not break me out
  • Rating :star: :star::star::star::star:
  • I really wish it was more than 50 grams.

Aromatic Skin Toner: Non Alcoholic Skin Toner

Aromatic skin toner non alcoholic skin toner

Price Rs 70 for 120 ml
What the pack says:
  • An alcohol free antiseptic skin toner. closes pores and softens facial lines, restores skin’s natural pH balance provides radiance and fresh feeling. For all skin types.

Directions of use: Apply toner, thereafter, pat aromamagic almond moisturising skin lotion to seal in the moisture. Use two three times daily and as a toner after cleansing. Active ingredients: Extracts of rose, lavender, peppermint, sandalwood, and pure essential oils of juniper, tea tree, basil and witch hazel What I love about this product:

  • It is totally non alcoholic really
  • It cools my skin
  • Removes any excess traces after cleansing
  • Can store in fridge for extra cooling
  • Just as soothing as rose water but with extra benefits
  • Pore refining qualities over time
  • It is very gentle and does not give me any unwanted effects on application. I have never used a milder toner than this
  • Great for all skin types
  • Price is nominal for 120ml
  • Can carry it in the purse for all day usage as it is very gentle on skin
  • Hint of rose fragrance
  • Love the ingredients
  • True to claims
  • Rating :star:  :star: :star: :star: :star:for its gentle nature

Next step to toning: moisture

Hydrogel: Moisture Replenishing Gel:

Rs 125 for 50 grams Aroma Magic Hydrogel

What the pack says: A deep nourishing and lubricating gel rich in lactic acid. Prevents skin dehydration and dryness. Regenerates cellular tissue and prevents skin degeneration. Leaves skin smooth, nourished, luminous and shades lighter. For all skin types.

Directions of use: For oily skin apply and leave on. For dry skin use under aromamagic almond moisturisng lotion or nourishing dew cream

Active ingredients: Extracts of seaweed gel, beta carotene, aloe vera gel, soya, lecithin, vitamin e, liposomes, plant squalene. Mint Cleanser AromaMagic

What I love about this product:
  • Balm form
  • Quick absorption
  • Smooth texture
  • Oily skin needs moisture so this is the perfect non clogging moisture for skin
  • Application for dry skin as well mentioned on the pack by clubbing it with other products
  • Thick on application but dries in seconds and vanishes on the skin(it may feel balmy on contact with water. So I wear it at night only)
  • Feels like a protective layer on skin
  • Not sticky after application
  • Need around coin size
  • Does not break me out
  • I just use my palms to pat it on skin
  • Great alternative to lotions and moisturisers
  • You may need to use fingers to dip into the gel. That’s the catch.
  • Rating:  :star: :star: :star: :star:
These three can be used for oily skin as their cleansing toning moisturising routine morning and evening. Will last for 20 to 25 days then. Cleanser may finish soon though.

Nice post for the oily club!!

I too dont like the packaging of AromaMagic products…I find them kind of cheap…i mean if ur not aware of the brand then u wud not give it a second glance at any store..infact when I introduced some of my friends to aromamagic, their first reaction was…is it a good brand? we’ve seen these products but never bothered abt it :-)

i can only imagine how helpful this must be for those with oily skin. i recently got my first aroma magic products because they work excellently for rati and both of us have dry skin. the almond moisturising lotion is a dream and the almond under eye cream sorted out my allergic, dry and flaky skin around my eyes just with TWO applications, you heard it right! i also got a lip balm and grapefruit face wash for free with the lotion. i tossed the balm in the bin coz it just made my lips oily and i ended up feeling like i’ve eaten a dozen puris. yet to try the grapefruit face wash, i’ve heard it’s pretty good.

if there’s anyone out there with dry skin, please post your skin care routine, it will really help me.

Thanks so much for this useful review for oily skin (I am part of that club). Tomorrow itself I am going to buy the Hydrogel, yesterday I bought the grapefruit face wash and the almond eye cream (for night) and eye gel (for day). Going to try the face wash tomorrow. Does the Hydrogel make the skin oily after about an hour or so? It looks very much like a cream.

Reply

neha July 10, 2010 at 2:15 pm

HEY JOMOL SUSH AND Madhu
the gel is like a balm
and it looks invisible on skin
but if you sweat or splash water it will become gel like again
try it ower night
and it not at all like a cream…it like a thicker aloe vera gel texture

Reply

neha July 10, 2010 at 2:16 pm

nope gel is not greasy or oily
its just gel…without the least feel of oil

Hi I purchased toner after reading your product review & used twice a day after cleansing with cetaphil cleanser in morining & evevning and the moisturising with johnsons baby lotion :shy:

but after using for 2 days skin starts itching & then i saw breakups on my face…u know dandruff type  … i stopped using the product immediately…this is the first time i used toner…i don’t use toner..i just cleanes & the moisturise.

Thank you so much for this review, before this i was so sceptical to try out any brand other than the usual but I took the plunge after reading this particular review and I love it!! Got the Cleanser and Toner, still finishing my Neutrogena moisturizer, then have to choose between this Hydrogel and Lotus ka Aloe gel…decisions decisions! ;)
So bottom line, thanks a ton, I can safely say these two beauties are topping my forever list right now :)
