MAC Foundation Problem: Ask IMBB

Ask IMBB Gang

Swarna asks:

Hey beauties,
I got a Mac NC41 shade in Studio fix fluid foundation and the compact version. I tried and tested both, but after coming home,I find my foundation looks a little yellowish or yellow-toned on my skin. (Which makes the makeup unnatural).

The compact is a good match and I can wear it alone without looking ‘made up’. Can you help with the foundation problem?

Thanks & Love,
Swarna

I had the same problem with my Prolongwear foundation. What I do is I mix it with my moisturizer and I top with a more neutral toned compact. Works like a charm <3

I will recommend using a stippling brush, so that you use less amount thus reducing yellowness.

You should have gone for NW range instead of NC. I had same issues with my foundation, so I switched to NW which gave me a more natural look.

You can mix two different shades of foundation on your hand and apply it by patting it on your face, if that looks good on your skin, do a second coat of this, mixing two shades help neutralize the color, they can even be from two different brands.

Hey Swarna.. even I faced a similar issue.. because there is a hell lot of difference between their lights and natural light outside.. i bought NC35 earlier, and later I got NW35.. I used to blend these up in equal proportion to get my pefect shade and quite a natural colour. :) .. and from the next time I always ask for a sample at Mac before buying.. gud luck.. :)

instead of mixing 2 foundations, you can mix it up with a BB cream to neutralize the yellow shade .. I believe using two foundations will make the foundation heavy.. all the best *hifive* and ya do pick up samples next time *haan ji*

Mayuri swty when we mix 2 colors, we tend to reduce the quantity of each foundation.. most of the youtube gurus follow this method to get their perfect color.. moreover, by this method we can use up the product, else it will just topple in the vanity.. *happy dance*
