Audrey’s Flower Sponge Review

Hi Everybody,

I have finally bought a foundation for evening functions. I am taking my baby steps towards actual makeup. I have bought a few Inglot eye shadows too. Ok, anyways, now since I have bought foundation and I am not too good at blending it, I have bought this Audrey’s flower sponge pack to assist me in blending my foundation especially from the corners. Read on to find out more about this product.

Product description:
Audrey’s blending sponges are made of hydrophilic polyurethane (water based biodegradable foam). Unlike other latex sponges available in the market they are non-flaking, odourless, non toxic, oil resistant and suited to all skin types. When moistened with water, these sponges expand in size giving you more surface to work with, making it excellent for makeup application and removal as well. They return to their original size when completely dry.

These high quality professional cleansing sponges/ wedges have easy to hold shapes to enable you to blend evenly and remove makeup quickly around the eyes, nose and other corners of your face.

Many varieties of Audrey’s cleansing sponges are available for cleansing, blending and contouring which make you think young and playful during makeup!

My experience with Audrey’s flower sponges:

They come in a lock pouch which contains 6 petal shaped sponges joined at the centre to form a flower. For usage, we can separate each petal as an individual sponge. I loved the concept, it is attractive and shape does not alter the usage efficacy at the same time.

The sponges are very very soft and smooth surface wise. I have used it both for blending foundation and removing it as well. For blending purposes, the shape is just apt. The thickness allows a good hold over the sponge piece and the corners are so designed to ease blending in the corners of nose eyes etc. I used it to blend the foundation under the eye area and corner of the eyes. It does its job perfectly. You can use it both ways- dry and wet (slightly wet). I find it better than the round sponges.

Next, I used it for cleaning purpose. For that, I had to make it wet and then start wiping on my face. Though I have another big cobbled sponge from bare essentials for that purpose but I think this does the job better for corners. With the bigger one, foundation still remains stuck in the corners. Also, when we cleanse our face after removing eye makeup, traces of kajal remain; it is very effective in removing that too.

The description says that it gets bigger in size when moistened with water, but I don’t think so that happens or if at all that happens, it is a slight change and not a big one. Anyways I do not have a problem with that.

I have washed them many a times; they remain as they are after drying too. You can store them back in the same lock pouch.
So, overall I like them very much, for the shape first of all, for the material, for the ease they bring into blending and removing makeup and for the re-sealable pouch too.

Pros:
• 6 sponges attached together at the corners to give a shape of a flower which is very attractive.
• The material is very soft.
• The corners of the sponge make blending and removing makeup from corners very easy.
• The width makes it easy to hold and use.
• Remains as it is after washing and drying too.
• Decent pricing.

Cons:
• I did not find any.
Repurchase and recommendation: yes for both.
