Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel Review

Hope life is treating you all very well. I am back again with a review of Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel. Since last five years, I have completely given up on waxing or any other hair removal method and have been using razors to shave unwanted hair on my body. For a lazy person like me, waxing was never feasible. I just hated salon trips to get my arms and legs waxed! So, for me, shaving is a savior because it gives me the freedom to do it anytime, as I like. Moreover, if am wearing short dresses everyday, then waxing is not the best option because one needs to wait for almost a month to get it redone.

At first, shaving would give me cuts and bruises, which is definitely annoying and also leave marks behind. Hence, I learnt about using shave gels and creams that are specifically meant for shaving. I picked up Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel this time, and I am happy with its results.

Claims:
This creamy shaving gel is uniquely formulated with natural soy and rich emollients to help immediately soften and condition hair, making it easier for you to get a closer shave and to shave less often with continued use. The clean-rinsing formula helps prevent nicks, cuts and even razor burn by helping to hydrate and moisturize skin. It’s even gentle enough to use on sensitive skin.

Directions:
Wet area to be shaved.  Put small amount of gel on fingertips and rub over skin to produce a rich lather.  Shave and rinse.

$3-$5 for 7 oz (varies from store to store)

My Experience with Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel:

After trying few other shave creams, I liked this one a lot. This gel shave cream works best to get rid of hair from the core and makes my skin super smooth. After its first use, I realized how wonderfully it works in making skin supple and hydrated. Forget about cuts and bruises completely when you are using this shave gel. To get the best results, use it with a good feminine razor and exfoliate before shaving. Since the gel does not form too much froth, frequent razor cleaning is not required while shaving. It never gives any burning sensation or any kind of irritation that we normally feel after shaving. This gel definitely makes hair removal process much simpler and pain free.

However, the product claims that hair growth would slow down after continuous usage, which is not true at all. It helps in shaving hair from the roots, but does not have any effect on hair growth. If I talk about the scent of this shave gel, despite being very light, it is not pleasing to me at all. However, it does fade away after using a moisturizer. Overall, I can say that it’s a decent purchase and will prove worth the money to anyone. If you have sensitive skin, this product can be used without a doubt. This gel takes care of the itching and redness that we usually feel after shaving and give a flawless looking skin.

To sum up, I would say that this shave gel lives upto the expectations and gives admirable results. Will I buy Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel again? Yes! Because I find it better than other shave creams and it suits my skin well too.
