Banjara’s Sun Protect Enriched with Papaya (SPF 60) Review

by Smitha M.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first review article 🙂 . I shall be reviewing a Sun Protect cream by Banjara’s today. I have been using it for around a year now. I have oily skin on my face, hands and legs. They tend to become dry sometimes. This sun protect cream not only protects my skin from getting a tan, but also keeps my skin healthy and glowing. Moreover, it is not very expensive. 😀

Price/Packaging/Quantity:

It is priced at INR 250 for 100g. It comes in a yellow and orange pack with an orange cap and a papaya picture on it. It is a 3-IN-1 cream with sun protection, water proof and skin enlightenment properties. It is meant for all normal skin types, which could be applied on body and face. It has a sturdy flip cap, which closes properly and helps you to carry it with you without any leakage.

Ingredients:

Ingredients are not mentioned in the package. The only thing which we could assumed by it’s name is that, it contains Papaya extracts. 🙁

Product Claims:

Papaya is considered as the ‘fruit of angels’ as it contains many hidden benefits for skin and health. Apart from Papains, papaya is also a rich source of antioxidant nutrients such as carotenes, vitamin C and flavonoids; the B vitamins, folate and pantothenic acid; and the minerals, potassium and magnesium; and fiber. The pulp of this fruit is also a basic component of many facial creams, and shampoos.

Papaya helps in removing dead skin cells, keeping it hydrated, smooth, supple and soft. It is a natural exfoliator and provides shine to the skin. It also reduces pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and can be used for skin whitening.

Product claims that it is meant for all normal skin types and gives SPF 60 UVB protection. It helps to correct the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, discoloration and existing sun damage while intercepting future aging. And helps to restore skin’s natural defense to fight environmental exposure and gives perfect base for makeup.

Shelf Life:

It is written that the product is best before 3 years from the date of manufacture.

My Take on Banjara’s Sun Protect Enriched with Papaya (SPF 60):

It is a white-coloured cream, which spreads easily. It does not have free flowing property. You might feel that the product is old because of its viscosity. It is absorbed within a few seconds and gives a pleasant smell to your body. Neither the hands nor the body feel sticky after application. My skin feels moisturised and soft for hours!

Most of the time I do not apply moisturizer separately while I am using this sun screen. I make sure that I step out of the house only after applying sunscreen. So, I used to spend a lot on sunscreens. Finally, I found this product, which gives me sun protection and also not heavy on my pockets 😀 . I have used it during my trekking as well and found that I had minimum sun tan even though I was exposed to sun for longer hours while trekking.

Direction:

Apply liberally and evenly on face, preferably 30 minutes prior to sun exposure. Use as your daily moisturizer for year round protection against sun damage.

Caution:

Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with clear water. Consult doctor if irritation persists. It is for external use only!

Summing the pros and cons:

Pros of Banjara’s Sun Protect Enriched with Papaya (SPF 60):

  • Lightweight sun screen cream.
  • Absorbs quickly into the skin, no sticky hands and body.
  • Skin feels soft and moisturized.
  • Sturdy packaging.
  • Sun protection and skin whitening.

Cons of Banjara’s Sun Protect Enriched with Papaya (SPF 60):

  • There is no mention of the ingredients anywhere in the package, which makes it less trust worthy. As we have no clue what chemicals have been used and if it would cause any damage to skin or health with long term application.

IMBB Rating:

4/5

Would I repurchase/recommend Banjara’s Sun Protect Enriched with Papaya (SPF 60)?

I have been using it daily now. I keep purchasing this again and again as it does not last long, since I use it on my face and hands daily. I have recommended this to my friends as well and they have not complained till now after they started using the product. If you are looking for a value for money sun protect cream, then go for it!
