Product Description:

Broken capillaries. Scars. Blemishes. Conceal and conquer any imperfection with this soft brush, which gives you fuller, more concentrated coverage. That’s because the firm, medium-sized brush head holds more SPF 20 Concealer. Use a patting technique to cover imperfections before or after applying your foundation, and you will get maximum coverage that blends completely and doesn’t leave a line.  Brush is made of Taklon.

My Experience with bareMinerals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush:

I am very pleased and impressed with the performance of this concealer brush.  The brush is very well made with its matte black with silver handle. It is very sleek looking and sturdy and fits very well in the hands.  The bristles are made up of synthetic Taklon hair. Taklon is the common name for a synthetic fiber used in artist-quality paint, makeup and pin stripe brushes. It is a smooth, soft, and somewhat fragile polyester, therefore in the cosmetic industries is referred as a “green,” “vegan,” “allergy free” or synthetic alternative to animal hair brushes. Also, these synthetic Taklon brushes are more hygienic than real hair brushes because of the fact that due to the naturally occurring surface irregularities in animal hair brushes, makeup particles tend to settle deeper inside the hair and may become difficult to clean. Since synthetic brushes lack such surface irregularities, it becomes easier to clean and with such brushes, we would have lesser skin problems.

The bristles are soft yet firm and densely packed. They pick up just the right amount of product and blending them is a breeze. It is also the right size to reach in hard corners such as the corners of the nose or the under eye area which otherwise is difficult to reach with a full foundation brush. The rounded end of the brush gives a very precise application. The tip is narrow enough that it works great while doing touch ups under my lower lashes too.

I found that this brush works exceptionally well with products of creamy or liquid nature and that patting technique seems to give better result than the dragging technique with this particular brush. It does not seem to work that great with powder concealers since it gets very difficult to buff that powder onto the skin with a flat headed brush.

It is also a great brush to do spot concealing of pimple or acne marks. It gives a flawless and uniform application and does not make the product look cakey. Also, I have never had any problem with this brush shedding or not holding its shape after washing.  The price of this brush is a little on the higher side but considering the amazing quality and sturdiness of the brush, it will last me a very long time without having a need to buy another brush.

Overall, a fantastic and a very good quality item, I do recommend.

Great review *clap* & such a great brush *drool* *drool* Concealer brushes are the most ignored makeup accessories I feel…none of the brands except for faces has come up with it in India…there are a few 2 in 1 dual ended brushes but I prefer a compact single one…sigh…out of the reach of a student like me..for now.. *cry* *cry*
