  1. Rati… you are so so cute! :-* Love the pouty expression in the end! And I learnt a LOT from this video – especially the warming the hands bit. So simple, yet something no one would eVER think of by themselves! πŸ˜›

I have a questions – fix + can be used to set all types of makeup right? not just powder? Also, won’t something liquidy like this rub off your makeup? Silly, I know but I always wondered why it doesn’t!!! πŸ˜•
.-= ki.´s last blog ..My first major beauty review published!!! =-.

    1. Thank you Ki. πŸ˜› Yes fix + can be used to set every different kind of makeup and that’s what it is meant for. It does not rub off the cream or liquid foundation. It has rose water , which a lot of makeup artists use as a make up fixer. I am not too sure of the makeup fixing properties of rose water. It’s just a tip that I got from one of the MUAs. πŸ™‚

  2. Thank you so much Rati..In fact, today I was about to DM you and ask for sometips on max factor application..now i saw this vid and you have shown a demo..Lovely.

Somehow, I have always felt uncomfortable using cream/liquid foundation as it made me feel un natural..LOL. So it was always powder for me. Now that I have Max factor, I guess i need to get over that..

    1. I am so loving MAx Factor foundation. It’s just like your second skin. I also took time in getting used to liquid foundation. I still end up using only TBS loose powder as a base. Glad you liked it. πŸ™‚

    1. No I am not using cream foundation on top of liquid foundation for concealing purposes. The steps are exactly the same as liquid foundation . It’s just that you can use cream foundation as a concealer as well.

      moisturize + cream foundation

  3. Hi Rati, good video!
Are you using everything on top of each other?
I only use a liquid foundation and I apply it with a sponge
but would like to do it proper, should I just follow the
    liquid foundation steps?
.-= sunaina´s last blog ..World inspired colours =-.

    1. Yes Sunina, you just have to follow the liquid foundation steps. They are three different kind of foundations and are to be used in the following was

Moisturize + liquid foundation + sponge + loose / compact powder to set
Moisturize + cream foundation + sponge (optional)+ loose / compact powder to set
      Moisturize + mineral foundation + fix+

It would have been too hectic had i removed everything after every single application. i thought it was self explanatory. πŸ™ Sorry for the confusion.

  4. Hey Rati,

Very Nice Video. Learnt quite a bit. Thanks a ton… :-). Using sponge to apply foundation gives a good coverage but sponge eats up a bit too much of the product. However, the method that you have shown, using brush to apply and then sponge to set it is interesting. Let me try this way.

    1. I used to face the same problem earlier. But then I used to love the application with sponge. With a little thought to the process, I came up with this technique and it worked wonders for me. Hope it does for you too. πŸ™‚

      Thank you. πŸ™‚

  5. I agree with Divija 200%….. You do look like you have mastered the art of makeup completely………

    Love the warm hands tip…..

Is that a Vega sponge??? I love those… They are sooo cute… :cute:

    1. Thank you, M. Long way to go. Warming up your hands basically evens out the whole application. Glad you liked it. πŸ™‚

Yes that is the Vega sponge. I like them a lot and they are so reasonable also. πŸ™‚

  6. Hi!
    I loved your video!

 :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

I wanted to ask that I have an oily skin so do I moisturize before putting on the foundation??

I used to use a damp towel instead of using the Vega sponges since I get late every time I have to go out! πŸ˜› I don’t know how I manage to do that all the time! πŸ˜€
And whenever there is a marriage at house I’ve to do my cousin sister’s makeup, her mother’s and my mom’s makeup and sometimes some other family members come too. Last year at my cousin sister’s wedding I didn’t even get to finish my makeup! I didn’t even realize that until the album came out and my picture was at the front since I was receiving the barati! But since it was in the month of may it oddly looked fresh and it seemed really good. I didn’t even get to apply anything other than the foundation, liner, kajal and the lipstick!

Anyways! I’m gonna apply a neem paste on my face tomorrow! Ah! the multani mitti worked wonders  and my skin has become much more healthier!

And thanks for visiting my blog. Its something I took up recently and Its all jumbled up! I just put up whatever I like and I simply love wasting time in my blog! πŸ˜›

    1. Rijwi, thank you so much. These days I also do makeup for my friends and family and honestly, it’s so much fun in doing makeup for others that I don’t mind much if my own makeup is done perfectly or not. The bigger charm lies in making others happy. Isn’t it? πŸ™‚ Use an oil free moisturizer atleast 4-5 minutes before applying the foundation. Best is if you can get a primer. Inglot makes an excellent primer for oily skin. That will make your makeup last longer. Otherwise generally makeup tends to melt because of the oil production on your skin.

Doesn’t the towel streak the foundation?

Don’t we all love wasting time on our blog? πŸ˜›

      1. Exactly! I love it when my cousin says she’s gonna make me do her makeup forever because she likes the different looks I give her.
Can you please check out the name and price of the Inglot primer?? :lashes:

Ah! I just press the damp towel for only a few seconds. I don’t give it enough time to streak the foundation. But now I’ll use the Vega sponges since I spotted them at last!

Exactly! I love wasting my time on my blog! It feels really good to share what u are enjoying! πŸ˜€

  7. We both apply our foundations just the same way.. *same pinch*

I actually picked this warm hands trick up from a very good MUA. My niece is into modeling so i sometimes used to go with her on her shoots. There i saw this MUA apply the makeup with brushes and then warming his hands and touching them on the models face. Me being the curious cat that i am asked him about it. So he told me since we do the makeup with brushes if in the end we apply our warm hands on our face it helps the makeup to set on the face.
I also use a wet sponge and if in a hurry i just dab a wet towel on my face, it works just as efficiently.
    Everyone’s liking Maxfactor foundations alot…!!

    1. oh wow!! I am glad to know that. πŸ™‚ The warmth from the hands basically melts the foundation a bit and evens out the application. I think you must accompany your niece more often. We would get to read know loads of secrets. πŸ˜›

MAX Factor’s foundation is nice. I also found my exact shade, which is quite rare. Loving it completely. πŸ™‚ Thankfully Mrunmayee saved me from wasting money on their mineral foundation. i was eying it badly. πŸ™‚

  8. Such a helpful video, especially for a total makeup dodo like me!! Loved the trick of spraying the brush with rose water.
