Bath and Body Works Cashmere Glow Shower Gel Review

When I chanced on the Cashmere Glow Shower Gel in Bath and Body works store, I was drawn to its name. The term “Cashmere” for me always brings up images of soft and luxurious woolens. I did not know for sure how wonderful “cashmere” woolens would smell, but one whiff of this shower gel was enough to convince me that I should pick it up.

Packaging:

The shower gel has a beautiful orange brown color, which is visible in the transparent plastic bottle. The steel gray flip top cap is well suited for use in shower. The bottle has shining diamond shaped images to represent the fabled “cashmere glow.” The packaging is travel friendly and sturdy too. The cashmere glow is labeled as one of the signature collection fragrances from Bath and Body works.

My Experience with Bath and Body Works Cashmere Glow Shower Gel:

I usually take a small amount of shower gel on the loofah and it is enough to create a rich lather. The shower gel works well to clean. I have dry skin, so I mostly end up applying body lotion after shower. However, on using this shower gel, my skin did not feel extremely rough and dry. Though the shower gel claims to make skin irresistibly soft, I found my skin not to be very soft but not super dry either. The presence of Aloe Vera, Vitamin E along with Shea butter did help in having lesser dehydrating effects on my skin compared to other shower gels.

The fragrance smells a very aromatic combination of vanilla and sweet peaches. In fact when I first smelled the shower gel, it smelled very much like the VS Vanilla Lace.  However, this shower gel smells a more richer and exquisite version of the VS Vanilla Lace.

When I use this shower gel, its fragrance fills the entire bathroom. However, the fragrance is very pleasant and lovely. It is not intense and hence does not end up in giving me a headache. After rinsing the shower gel, the fragrance stays on the skin, but it is very faint and mild. The presence of cashmere musk makes the fragrance of the shower gel a very sophisticated and warm fragrance along with being fragrantly floral.Though the shower gel would be very suitable for winter months, I would be happy to use it all through the year.

The shower gel also has guava, berries and apricot that impart sweetness to the fragrance, but I cannot smell them individually in the shower gel. I have liked the fragrance of this shower gel much more than the VS shower gels. Hence I am planning to buy the body lotion and mist as well.

Pros of Bath and Body Works Cashmere Glow Shower Gel:

• A small amount of shower gel is enough to create a rich lather.
• Cleans very well without making the skin very dry due to shea butter content along with aloe vera and vitamin E.
• Very pleasant fragrance with notes of vanilla and sweet peaches.
• Fragrance is floral with mild musk notes and smells very luxurious and aromatic.
• Mild fragrance stays on skin after rinsing.
• Packaging is sturdy and good for shower use.
• Suitable for all skin types.
• Great everyday use shower gel though more reminiscent of winter season.

Cons of Bath and Body Works Cashmere Glow Shower Gel:

• Did not make skin super soft as claimed by product.
• Contains sodium lauryl sulfate.
• Pricey.

Would I Repurchase Bath and Body Works Cashmere Glow Shower Gel?

I really like this shower gel from BBW, so I would buy it again.  Though I have always liked Dove shower gels a lot, I am developing a new fondness for BBW and plan to try few more from it.  I am really glad Cashmere Glow shower gel was the first one I picked….first impressions do matter 🙂
