Bath and Body Works Wild Peach Poppies Body Lotion Review

Hello cupcakes,

I am a big time hoarder of Bath and Body Works products and I have a small dream to try each and every Bath and Body Works product, insane right? But, I really do wish to do that. I love layering myself with their lotions and mists because they make me smell so damn amazing that I pretty much cannot describe. Coming to their lotions, I reviewed the Mango Chill from them last week, which was a pure fruity one, and now I am up with this called ‘Wild peach poppies’, which is a blend of floral and fruity fragrance. Let us see how this worked out for me.

My Experience with Bath and Body Works Wild Peach Poppies Body Lotion:

I am not much into floral scents, but since this claimed to have fruity peaches, I thought of giving it a shot. The body lotion comes in a translucent bottle, which is filled with white lotion. The bottle in all looks very decent and plain, but the label totally adds spice to the packaging. The label has “wild peach poppies” written in metallic green colour and there are some cute peaches and poppy flowers accompanied. It looks good to me, but a little less attractive than the other products from Bath and Body Works, which have vibrant and quirky packaging.

It has a silver cap, which is a press open one. It is super easy to carry it in your bag wherever you go, although it is a little heavy, when your bottle is full and will occupy a big space. The cap is pretty conveniently designed, you just have to press it like a button and press the bottle a little and the product comes out.

The body lotion is thick in consistency, but blends very well with your skin. It gets layered smoothly on the skin, although it takes quite some time to get completely absorbed in the skin. I think it cannot be used during the extreme summer days because this melts a little by little, leaving a greasy cast on the skin. But note that this will only happen, when you have freshly applied it. It won’t happen if it is already absorbed in the skin.

The hydration power is really good and like our Vaseline, which heals the dry skin very well. This gives an amazing burst of fragrance, which probably no other brand can beat.

This was all about the packaging and hydration power, now coming to their USP. The fragrance of this lotion is again an awesome one. The fragrance has a fruity and floral scent, although both dominate each other somewhere or the other.

Initially, when I open the cap and layered the lotion on my skin, it gave out a burst of fruity and juicy smell. To be precise, a blend of super sweet and juicy peaches along with a few hints of fresh apricot and sweet and sour bergamot. The moment I start massaging it, my room got filled with the lotion’s scent, which totally invigorates the senses.

The sillage stays for say the initial 30 minutes and then the floral scent comes into picture. It smells of fresh and bloomy poppies with a musky blend, which stays on the skin till the lotion scent fades. After 3 hours, I can faintly smell the scent. So, I would say that the staying power is 3 hours. However, the hydration given by it stays for a good 7-8 hours.

I will totally recommend this to wear during the days of spring and summer because the lotion screams fruitiness and freshness. This scent is not over-powering, so for those who think BBW is only about strong over powering scents, you should try this out.

Cons of Bath and Body Works Wild Peach Poppies Body Lotion:

  • Not apt for all-round year, it will work great only for summers.
  • More expensive in India as compared to USA (you could get it at discounted prices online).
  • Skin feels a little greasy when you apply it, but it absorbs quite well after 15 minutes or so.
  • Will not suit oily skin during summers because it will make the skin even more greasier.

Will I Repurchase/ Recommend Bath and Body Works Wild Peach Poppies Body Lotion?
Yes, of course. It is a great spring/summer scent to layer up your skin with and a very good one for those, who do not like very sweet and fruity fragrances.
