Aqua, cyclomethicone, isohesadecane, butylene glycol, sodium chloride, dimethicone, caprylyl/capryl glucoside, fragrance, d-panthenol, disodium EDTA, dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, phenonxyethanol, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate – confused??? Well, this is the long list of ingredients of a very famous makeup remover. So, many chemicals to just remove makeup, you would ask? Actually, the fact is that you do not need all these chemicals to remove even the stubbornest waterproof makeup, just a few easily available ingredients at home are needed and you can take all of that makeup down. Actually, makeup removers available in the market can have side effects, more so on sensitive skin which reacts with redness, irritation, allergic reactions, breakouts, etc., due to the harsh ingredients. On the other hand, naturally made makeup removers can nourish and give other benefits to the skin. Here’s a list of some makeup removers that you can make at home with natural ingredients. These are gentle yet effective and would wipe away even the stubbornest of makeup.

1. Cucumber and Milk Makeup Remover:

Cucumber and Milk Makeup Remover

This combination of cucumber and milk  not only removes makeup, it calms and soothes skin, adds glow and brightens to the face.  To make this cleanser, after peeling away the skin of the cucumber, grind a few cucumber pieces to get juice.  Add in a little milk to this, mix well, and with the help of a cotton round, dab on the face and eye and remove makeup.  Milk helps in breaking down makeup from the skin and cucumber will calm and soothe skin.  Use a mild face wash and rinse off well.

2.  Besan and Curd Makeup Remover:

This face pack is good for acne-prone skin, it acts against acne-causing bacteria, exfoliates dead skin cells, adds glow to the face, and works as a natural cleanser cleansing away all dirt, grime, and makeup too.  Take two tbsp of besan and add in 1-1/2 tbsp of curd into it.  Mix well and use this to wash your face instead of soap.  You would get squeaky clean skin and a healthy glow with regular use.

3.  Baby Oil Makeup Remover:

Though its not a natural homemade makeup remover, you have to agree it has relatively few ingredients and is milder (its for babies!) than other cosmetic ones.  Completely safe to remove even eye makeup, take a bit of baby oil, dip a cotton round into it and apply on face and eyes to remove every trace of makeup.  Clean away the residue with a mild face wash.

4.  Milk Powder Makeup Remover:

This removes every last trace of makeup from the face, even long-staying lipsticks, concealers, and foundations.  All you need is a little milk powder and a little warm water.  Dilute the milk powder with warm water and dip a cotton in this mix and use all over face to remove all traces of makeup.

5.  Olive Oil, Almond Oil and Coconut Oil Makeup Remover:

An oily treat that removes all dirt and stubborn makeup from the face and eyes and nourishes the skin at the same time.  Take equal quantities of olive oil, almond oil and coconut oil.  You can skip coconut oil if you want.  Mix all these oils together and apply on the face and eyes.  Rinse off with lukewarm water and a mild face wash.
