Best Paraben Free Shampoos
Parabens and SLS are commonly seen ingredients in cosmetic products, parabens are found in found skin care, makeup as well as hair care products whereas SLS is predominantly found in shampoos and hair care products. Parabens such as methylparaben, propylparaben, etc., are preservatives added to cosmetics to increase their shelf life. The reason why parabens are scaring people is because parabens get easily absorbed into the skin and can damage in human body, for example, affecting sperm count in males and can even cause cancers in women. Methylparaben can even react with the UVB rays of sun and cause fasten the ageing process. There’s a detailed post written by Surabhi Surendra on these harmful chemicals on beautiful products, its a must read. SLS or sodium lauryl sulfate present in a lot of shampoos can cause irritation and possible eye damage. Read the above-mentioned post to know more. Though the amount of parabens in cosmetics and hair care products is usually low and within the prescribed limits, don’t you think its better if there were no parabens at all. In this post, I am compiling shampoos that claim to be free of parabens.
