BH Cosmetics Essential Eyes – 28 Color Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hey all,

So lately I have been going crazy over eyeshadows and bought quite a few of them. Even though I don’t apply makeup every day, I still have tons of palettes in my collection. I recently added this BH Cosmetics Essential Eyes – 28 Color Eyeshadow Palette to my vanity, and I have mixed views about it. Read on to know more.

My Experience with BH Cosmetics Essential Eyes – 28 Color Eyeshadow Palette:

Packaging:
The packaging is not very great. It has a plastic, see-through cover and the bottom black portion is made of plastic too. There is no mirror at all and the palette is too huge to travel with. The packaging is quite meh.

Texture:
Most of the colours in this palette have a soft and cream-like texture, but certain random shades in between feel quite rough when you swipe your finger on them. I have mixed feelings regarding the texture. Some shades are great while others lack softness.

Pigmentation:
Like the texture, the pigmentation also depends on the shades. Certain shades are highly pigmented and some shades just don’t show up. Most of the shades in the last/4th row are poorly pigmented.

Performance:
First and foremost, I have to point out that this palette is filled with shimmery shades; there are only three or four shades which are matte. So if you think that this palette is a mixed bundle, it is not. You will not get a good mix of matte and glittery shades in here. The packaging of the palette is not impressive at all. The texture and pigmentation work with some colours and don’t work with some of them. I have to say that the palette has repeated shades.

I wish they had put blues and greens instead of so many pinks and silvers. On the website, some colours seem different than the original ones in the palette. Nonetheless, I do like this palette because there are certain shades which grabbed my eyes and blended out well, plus they stayed for around 6 hours without a primer. I would also like to add that certain shades are a little chalky. The poorly pigmented colours are hard to blend out, but you can work with it.

Overall:
I am happy with the purchase. I just have two issues – the palette doesn’t have versatile colours, and there are too many duplicate shades.
