Hello all,
Biore is known for their face cleansing products which are quite effective against pores, blackheads and acne. I use their pore strips quite often and when I saw a new Biore product on the shelves, I knew I had to pick it up. So, here I am reviewing the Biore Charcoal Pore Minimizer for you. Read on to find out more.
Price:
$8.99. Prices vary from store to store.
Product Description:
Infused with natural charcoal and micro-crystals (that’s fancy for exfoliants), this innovative polisher cleans pores by drawing out oil and washing dirt away. To use: Just add H2O + rub. With Natural Charcoal, known for its ability to draw out and trap deep-down impurities.
- Instantly diminishes the appearance of pores in just 30 seconds, and also over time.
- With purifying charcoal and polishing micro-crystals, this formula gets deep into pores, to draw out and bind to pore-clogging dirt and oil.
How To Use:
Wet hands and face with warm water. Dispense one pump into hands and work into a rich lather. Massage gently over face. Immediately rinse thoroughly with warm water. For optimal results, use up to 2-3 times per week.

My Experience with Biore Charcoal Pore Minimizer:
Packaging: The product comes in a sleek cylindrical plastic bottle and has the standard Biore navy-black imagery on it. The bottle feels very lightweight and handy. It has a unique dispensing mechanism, it has a spout which you need to flick open by pressing the lid. At first, the spout mechanism was a bit difficult to use as the product would not come out, but once the product was dispensed for the first time, it came out smoothly at all other times.
Formula/Performance:
The pore minimizer (which I guess is a fancy name for an exfoliating cleanser) has a gel-like consistency. It is black in color due to the presence of charcoal. The exfoliating particles give it a grainy texture. The particles are quite tiny and hence feel non-abrasive on the skin.
As you massage the cleanser on your face, the particles break down. The cleanser lathers up only a bit and that too after you massage it for a while. I found that it requires little effort to rinse the cleanser off the skin.
It cleanses the skin pretty well and the exfoliating particles give a good deep scrub to the face leaving visibly cleaner, brighter skin. And it is also effective in minimizing the appearance of pores. But, this effect is only temporary and as the day passes, my pores get back to their old self.
The scrub does not completely dry out my combination skin, but it does leave my cheeks a bit stretchy. I would not suggest this to dry-skinned beauties. The cleanser has a mild herbal smell which I do not mind. But those of you who do not like fragrance in your cosmetics may not like it.
Pros of Biore Charcoal Pore Minimizer:
- Cleans thoroughly and leaves you with visibly brighter skin.
- Non-abrasive exfoliating particles.
- Does minimize the appearance of pores, albeit temporarily.
- Unique and sturdy packaging.
- Mild pleasant fragrance.
Cons of Biore Charcoal Pore Minimizer:
- Will be drying for dry-skinned beauties.
IMBB Rating:
4/5

This pore minimizer seems to suit only oily and combi skin right? But since it gives temporary effect there are other options available on market for this.
hmm I am not going for it
Thanks so much for the detailed review …i always thought it wouldn’t suit my terribly dry skin so never got it 🙂
I would like to get it, basically anything with charcoal in it 🙂
I also loved how you reviewed it, but any product with charcoal makes my skin dry. Like its overall effectiveness. Great pick.
