Biotique Face Packs – A review

I am a big fan of face packs. There is nothing quite like relaxing after a long day with a face pack and cucumber slices on my eyes. Since I have oily and pretty much sensitive skin I try and stick to products with natural ingredients for my skin care. Here I am reviewing three of Biotique’s face packs.

Biotique CLOBiotique Clove and Turmetic packVE OIL AND WILD TURMERIC PACK -Anti-Blemish Face Pack

Price : Rs 180/-

What does Biotique Clove Oil and Wild Turmeric pack claims: Regular use helps in controlling pimples and other skin blemishes. Makes skin smooth, soft and lustrous.

My skin is quite sensitive and stress, climate changes etc result in me breaking out quite frequently. And this unfortunate occurrence of pimples lasts as long as two weeks. (Yes all you lucky women with flawless skin, feel blessed!)

After trying several remedies, a beautician recommended clove paste for my blemished skin. So I decided to try out the clove oil and turmeric pack. After all, both cloves and turmeric are known for their therapeutic properties.

A couple of weeks ago I had a bad break out of pimples on my face and decided to see if the product lived up to its name. I applied this pack juts before bed time, let it dry and washed it off after 20 minutes. The next day morning I was pleasantly surprised to see that my pimples had actually reduced in size.

I used the face pack again and after a break of two days and it helped further soothe my skin. As opposed to my usual two week healing period, this time my pimples were healed in a week.

My rating: 4

Will I repurchase Biotique Clove Oil and Wild Turmeric ? : Definitely yes

Biotique Mud PackBiotique MUD PACK Rejuvenating and Skin Tightening Pack for Face and Body

Price : Rs 180/-

What does Biotique MUD PACK claim: Gives devitalized and tired skin a clear youthful radiance.
This pack contains minerals salts of Magnesium, Calcium and Iodine. It also contains Basil Oil, Geranium Oil, Lavender Oil and Peppermint Oil

Since mud packs are known to refresh oily skin, I decided to give this a try. I have used this pack around five times so far. Though it gives me the squeaky clean and fresh feeling after I have washed it off, unfortunately I am yet to see any long term benefits.

My rating: 2/5

Will I repurchase Biotique MUD PACK? : No

Biotique Fruit Pack.pngBiotique FRUIT PACK – Skin Whitening and Fairness Pack

Price : Rs 180/-

What does Biotique fruit Pack claim: The juices of Pineapple, Tomato, Lemon and Papaya Fruit leave the skin clear, youthful and fresh. Every day use helps to make skin fairer and firmer.

Since I have experienced the benefits of home made papaya and tomato face packs for removing tan , I was inspired to try this particular product. This is the second time I have purchased this product. Though I have not experienced the benefits it claims such as skin whitening, I can definitely call this an instant pick me up for my skin.

Every time I use this, I get compliments on how fresh my face looks. Unfortunately the effect lasts only a few hours. Though the product encourages users to apply this every day, because of its citrus ingredients (lemon, tomato etc) I am apprehensive about following that piece of advice.

In my opinion this is a perfect product when you have no time for a facial and have a party or wedding to attend. It gives you a fresh scrubbed look and I love that. It’s also a good option when you have had a long day out in the sun and your face has that tired and patchy look.

My rating: 4/5

Will I repurchase Biotique Fruit pack? Definitely yes

Overall verdict about Biotique Face Packs:

Pros-

  • Biotique face packs are reasonably priced at Rs 180/- for a 85gm pack. The products last a few months. ( I use these packs 1-2 times a week)
  • They are made of natural ingredients and despite my sensitive skin, none of the products have disagreed with my skin
  • The products have a long shelf life of five years.

Cons

  • The products come in a wide mouthed container, which is not very convenient. ( I use a small spoon to scoop out the desired quantity)
  • Some of the face packs tend to harden a bit after a few weeks. Though this has not changed the effectiveness of the product, it makes it difficult to use.

Tip: When the product hardens, I scoop out the paste into a bowl and add rose water till I get the desired consistency

I want to conclude with a little note of caution. Some of Biotique face packs mention they may not suit sensitive skin. Though it did not cause any harm to my extremely sensitive skin, it is advisable to try an elbow patch test before hand.

I hope my reviews are useful and look forward to your comments!

Finally I want to thank Rati for giving me this opportunity and also a big shout out to the growing M&B family !

Hi Wanderlust,

Welcome to the Biotique lover club :-)
I am a fan of their products. Like you said, the pricing is good and the quality too. But the ultimate rating goes to their life span. Of course, not that we keep products for five years. But the assurance that your product will get spoilt easily itself is a relief :-)

Sorry for the mistake. What I meant was ” But the assurance that your product will NOT get spoilt easily itself is a relief ” :-)

I love Biotiques’ Clove and Turmeric pack and even the Fruit Pack (it’s pink in colour right?).
It really helps me deal with the acne prone skin that I have and not just deal but gives effective results as well.

The best way to keep them from drying is to keep it in the refrigerator. Trust me, it never dries and it stays cool and gives you a soothing effect everytime you apply it.

Another product of Biotique which is amazing is the Walnut Skin Polisher. It’s a scrub and it gives wonderful results.

I even use Biotiques’ Oil of Wintergreen Cream which is an acne and pimples cream. I apply it everynight on the pimples if there are any or if they’re about to occur before going to bed.
I even apply it on the blemishes. I’m the impatient kinds, most of times I end up making a scar on my face and then I try every possible thing to make it go and the cream really helps me lighten my blemishes which speeds up the slow and gradual process of making the blemishes disappear.

Simply, love the products, even gifted the fruit pack to my mom. She’s loving it too.

Hi,

I just got a bio fruit pack from biotique. Are bio fruit and biotique fuit pack different? I could see the Ingredient list was different too, the bio fruit does not contain lemon/limes. It also contains multani mitti.
Will I get the same results as I could have got from using the fruit pack based on your experience?
I have oily and acne prone wheatish colored skin. I got this pack to fade away my acne scars. Should I use it daily to get an effect?

I have used the Biotique pineapple face wash and found amazing results with my pimple and acne within a day. Apart from this the Biotique body polishing oil is very good for the skin too. Moreover, its not sticky at all.

the clove face pack didn’t work for me..i hate the burning sensation on applying and i haven’t noticed any difference in the size of my existing acne & blemishes and neither has their occurrence reduced..is it possible that the product is wrong for my skin type?
