Bite Beauty Honey Lush Fruit Lip Gloss Review

Bite Beauty is my latest obsession, but this one just does not make the cut. Never thought I would see this day 😛 Let us find out why.

Product Description:

A highly pigmented lip gloss featuring healthy fruit ingredients that are delicious enough to eat.

What it does:
Like instant nutrition for lips, Bite’s Lush Fruit Lip Gloss contains the same healthy ingredients you’d find in a pure fruit smoothie: real coconut, mango, and strawberry infused with seven nourishing fruit oils. Rich, vibrant, and juicy, this modern formula is highly pigmented. What you see in the container is exactly the color you’ll see on your lips.  It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

Packaging:  The packaging on this is so minimal but beautiful. It comes in a clear, see-through tube with a a greyish black cap with rubberized finish. The cap becomes a little easier to hold and twist because of the rubberized finish. I have this in the full size (it came in my Bite Discovery Set) and there is 3.27 g of product (not a lot of product to be honest).

My Thoughts on Bite Beauty Honey Lush Fruit Lip Gloss:

Bite Beauty always puts food-grade ingredients in its products. It tastes very sweet, in fact smells a little chemical-y sweet.

Shade: The shade is a light beige with golden shimmer throughout. Even though the shade looks like it is very light beige, it goes on quite transparent on my pigmented lips. That just means this gloss is not loaded with a lot of pigment. If I had seen this in store, I would have definitely never bought it to be honest. The shimmer in the gloss is truly beautiful. It is not chunky at all, it is meshed wonderfully with the formula. The shimmer catches the light beautifully as well. Because this shade is light, it can make the colour underneath a little lighter.  So, I use it underneath shades that I want to lighten.

Consistency:  It makes a pop sound when you pull out the wand, so that should tell you that the product is a bit thick. And yes, the consistency is quite thick and difficult to spread on the lips. It goes on patchy which is another drawback. On the positive side, as it sits, the heat from the lips definitely helps to loosen up the product a bit. It provides a good amount of hydration and on me, this product does not exaggerate or sink into lip lines.

Applicator:  The applicator is a traditional, flattened doe-foot wand and is perfect to get around the lips.

Staying Power:  Lasting power is terrible on this unfortunately, which is hardly news because no gloss will be glossy and stay put throughout the day. Even if I do not eat or drink, after a couple of hours, it loses its shine and looks more like a slightly glossy balm. It does not survive eating or drinking at all for me.

• Shimmer is not chunky and is beautiful.

Cons of Bite Beauty Honey Lush Fruit Lip Gloss:

• Goes on patchily.
• Thick texture.
• Difficult to spread on the lips.
• Does not last more than 3-4 hours.

Would I Recommend Bite Beauty Honey Lush Fruit Lip Gloss?
Overall, I would not recommend this formula at all. There are glosses which are way cheaper and have better formula than this one. I will continue to use it as a shade-lightening product as long as it lasts but I will not repurchase.
