Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner Pacific Review, Swatch, EOTD

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner Pacific

Bobbi Brown Smokey Kajal Liner Pacific

Hi Everyone,

Neetu has already reviewed the Noir version of the same pencil HERE. I am quickly sharing my experience and some pics of the shade called Pacific. 🙂

Claims : A new take on tradition – Bobbi’s inspiration for this highly pigmented, incredibly blendable formula comes from classic kohl eyeliners. Her reason? This richly colored liner can be applied to the inner eye and lash waterline without tugging or pulling-plus, its uniquely soft texture creates a dramatic smokey eye in seconds. Comes in six super-saturated shades that blend quickly with the convenient dual-ended smudger. Each pencil comes with a complimentary sharpener.

Price : Rs 1500 approx / US $24

My Experience with Bobbi Brown Smokey Kajal Liner in Pacific

On Bobbi Brown’s website Pacific is described as rich turquoise. But it is nowhere close to turquoise…okay may be a hint of turquoise. It is a metallic cool toned green liner. It’s a beautiful shade and a nice shade if you want to branch out from your regular blacks and browns. Especially great for summers.

This is the kind of pencil that you use and smudge it either with the applicator attached at the end of the pencil or  with a pencil brush. If you just apply this pencil on your waterline and upper lash line and assume that it’d say, it wouldn’t. It would smudge and fade and be all over the place. So apply, smudge/ smoke it out, and let it set. Only then would the liner actually work. if you have oily lids, make sure that you prime your eyes and apply a wash of eyeshadow or compact on your lids to get rid of excess oil.

The texture is buttery soft. It goes on super smoothly on eyes. And even though the texture is super soft, the pencil does not break while sharpening. The pencil comes with a sharpener.

The eye kajal liner has not caused any irritation or discomfort on my eyes.

The staying power is very good on my eyes. It stays for good 5+ hours on my waterline but it does have a tendency of fading from the upper lash line. The color does not disappear completely until I  remove it with a makeup remover but does not look as vibrant at the end of the day. For reference, I don’t have very oily lids and I anyway use primer before using any eye makeup.

If you ask me overall, I am on the edge of recommending it. For someone who is new to eyeliners or does not like to do smokey eyes all the time, it might come across as a disappointment. For me also, I always have to make sure that I set it properly so that it does not move. In my head I am never too sure that this would look just fine after hours of application. I also find the color Pacific a little difficult to use. It’s fun but restrictive. I mostly mix it with a black liner to get a hint of green. On its own I feel it’s too green….does it make sense? 😛

    1. yeah that is better. this is okay but you need to work your way through it. and somehow I am always conscious about the fading part whenever i wear it. Mixing it with a black liner works better with it. 🙂
