Neha T. asks:

Hi ladies,

Need help. My sister has extremely dry skin. It is so dry that we can see a textured pattern on her hands at times. Can you people suggest a good body oil for such a skin?

Regards,

Even i suffer from extreme dryness in winters, been using Patanjali Tejus Tailam just after bath. Its great. Smell is a lil pungent coz of the chandan i guess. But i like it! The faint smell lingers even till evening. Ask ur sis to avoid taking bath in very hot water.

nothing can beat good old mustard oil massage before bath :D if your sis doesn’t like the smell of mustard oil, let her try pure coconut oil instead. both are very moisturizing. and if i haven’t scared u enough already, i heard massaging ghee before bath does wonders for dry skin too :)

you can try extra virgin olive oil. Can be applied after bath as well. Put few drops of oil in your palm, warm it by rubbing your palms and apply to dry areas.

Try johnson & johnson baby oil.It works like wonder, absorbs very quickly in skin.
No chip chip, very mild aroma.
it keeps my skin moist soft n smooth for 24 hrs. i have tried many body oils n lotions but
this works best

Olive oil is the best for plp with xtremely dry flaky skin. Use products that contain cocoa butter or shea butter !!! Hope this helped :)

Thanks Sharmila & Shriya, but she’s already tried figaro..and it’s not working..I think the other option might be useful!

Hi all

My friend too had super dry skin and two things which she uses religiously help her wade away winter woes… figaro olive oil before the bath and after bath, in semidry skin, biotique carrot seed after bath oil…

I have seen her skin becoming so soft and supple!!!

Why moderation? :-(

You can try Johnson’s baby oil. Apply it immediately after the shower on wet skin. Or apply the oil before the final rinse. Helps to spread it evenly. Works great. No stickiness either.

u’ve already got all good suggestions…

even i’ve extremely dry skin.. no matter what season it is.. even in summers i have to apply oil .. my dermatologist suggested me :

1. after having bath..apply “Mustard oil” and then rinse with lukewarm water..or “vitamin E OIl”.. or “coconut oil” for very very dry , very dry ,and dry skin respectively..
2. use “Parasoft Soap” or “Pears ” only.
3. “Parasoft cream” on DRy patches only.. its very very moisturising..
4. NeVer use loofah and any scrubber.. it will only worsen your condition..
5. Use cold cream after everytime you wash your hands..

I hope it will help your sister..
