The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask

The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask

Hello IMBB,

Our beauty rituals traditionally involves a clean-up.  It goes something like this, cleansing, scrubbing, steam (to open up the pores) and then a nice mask or a pack.  We go to the parlors and spend so much over the clean ups. Some clean-ups are also followed by bleach (I wonder why you want to torture your skin at one sitting).  But after all, we all don’t have that kind of time (for some even the money*sniff*) to get clean ups and stuff.  So, a good idea is to get a nice scrub at home and do it yourself, but why not invest in a good product which does all at one go!

The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask

Yes! The Body Shop Honey and Oat Scrub Mask is one such product.  I wonder why the review has been still pending on IMBB.  We all have haggled over scrubs and then their goodness.

Now, here s my take on scrubs. They shouldn’t be too grainy and harsh as they can actually scratch your skin, and then imagine the sensitive-skinned people.  Once I had a clean up done at a parlor and the beautician literally rubbed me with a super grainy scrub stating it will take out all the grime.

This product is really a beautiful one because it does scrubbing, moisturizing and all the good stuff at once.

Product Description:

Triple action in double time. Smoothes and conditions normal to dry skin with natural kaolin clay, oatmeal and organic Community Trade honey.

Ingredients:

On the product itself, but still I’d mention them here:

Water, Oat (Avena Sativa) Bran, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Kaolin, Honey, Glyceryl Stearate, Butylene Glycol, PEG-100 Stearate, Myristyl Myristate, Behenyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Sodium Lactate, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Phenoxyethanol, Hectorite, Sodium PCA, Fragrance, Saccharide Isomerate, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Citric Acid, Caramel.
Key ingredients being the Honey, glycerin and kaolin clay.

My Take on The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask:

Now, its a creamy mixture that is off-white coloured.  You can clearly see the scrub particles, probably the oat bran.

Scrub Mask

Smell:  It has a strong honey-oat smell.  I find it yummy but for some, it really may be overpowering.

Texture:  So creamy and soft that it spreads like a dream on the face.  No hassle of struggling to spread it, a little quantity covers the whole face.

Container: It comes in a tub with a screw lid. I wish it was in a tube for the hygiene purpose, but I am already planning on what I could do with the empty container, once the scrub is over.

How To Use:

Cleanse skin and pat dry before applying a generous layer of the mask to the face, avoiding the eye and lip areas. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water (mask will not dry). Use one to two times per week after cleansing. I try to use it mid shower when my skin is already soft.  Doesn’t scratch like other scrubs, so if you are used to grainy ones, you won’t like this one. I leave it on for 10 minutes or even more and it kind of gets soaked up in my skin. Doesn’t dry (please note).

Now, here’s the set back. When you apply, it really stings a lot for a while. The first time I applied it, I freaked out panicking that this was going to rip my skin off, but the sting settles to a tingling sensation after a while and then its totally gone and when I’m done washing my face, voila!!say hello to beautiful, soft skin!

The mask doesn’t make skin stretchy like other masks.  Now, I am sure of this baby because my bestie with the most sensitive skin uses it too.  Its safe even if it stings.

Summarizing the pros and cons:

Pros of The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask:

  • Yummy smell (I love it).
  • All-in-one, easy to use.
  • A little goes a long way (doesn’t dry off).
  • Makes skin super soft.
  • Totally cost efficient.

Cons of The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3-in-1 Scrub Mask:

  • The stinging/tingling might panic a few!
  • Smell might seem overpowering.

IMBB Rating:

4/5.
