The Body Shop Lily Cole Pearl Radiance Primer Review

The Body Shop Lily Cole Pearl Radiance Primer Review

Hello Everyone,

Today, I have decided to review “The Body Shop Pearl Radiance Primer.” Its from their limited edition “Cruelty Free Makeup Range” and promoted by their activist Lily Cole. I bought this primer a few weeks ago when I happened to drop by The Body Shop outlet to replenish my stock of body butter and scrub. I came out with a lot more than what was on my mind. I know this happens with lots of us, especially with us women whereas men tend to forget what they were out to purchase and return empty handed.  Now, here is the primer for all lovely beauties out there.

The Body Shop Lily Cole Pearl Radiance Primer Review

Price:

Rs. 1895 for 15 ml.

Inside glass pearls

Packaging:

It comes in a see-through cylinder approximately 11 cm long with a bright pink cap. The black and pink combination is what attracts you in the first place and stands out in the entire makeup section of The Body Shop. The cap opens to reveal a pump with a small nozzle through which the primer comes out. You need to press down the pump as in case of deodorants or perfumes to release the content.

Face Primer

The see-through glass section contains numerous miniature pearls in light pink color. These appear to be solid but come out in a liquid form when pressed. The primer is of the same color as the beads and has a thick texture. When applied, it tends to give a curdled look, but eventually smoothens to give an absolutely flawless finish. You can also see the presence of slight mineral particles that provide a subtle glow and sheen. It gets absorbed quickly, and is not at all heavy. My skin feels illuminated and radiant.

Product Description:

Perfect and illuminate your complexion with this pearlescent make-up base. It gets its shimmer from mineral mica. It’s limited edition so don’t miss out. Catch it while you can.
• Adds radiance.
• Use before foundation or alone.
• Dermatologically tested.
• Gives a flawless finish.

Pump applicator with nozzle tip

How To Use:

Pump the applicator a few times to release a pea-sized amount of primer. Using a brush or fingers, apply primer to the face in circular movements and smooth in well. Initially a water like liquid comes out after which the primer is released hence you need to pump it a few times, but later only one press is enough.

Here is a swatch of the product on my forefinger.  You can see the mineral effect on them.

Pros of The Body Shop Lily Cole Pearl Radiance Primer:

  • Smart and attractive packaging.
  • Small size makes it easy to carry around, travel friendly.
  • The pump applicator releases only a small amount avoiding wastage.
  • Only a pea-sized amount is enough to cover the entire face and neck area.
  • Gets absorbed quickly and gives a flawless finish.
  • Skin appears illuminated and radiant.
  • Application of foundation or compact becomes easier.
  • Very light.
  • From Body Shop’s “Cruelty Free Makeup Range.”

Cons of The Body Shop Lily Cole Pearl Radiance Primer:

  • Pretty expensive.

I am unable to find any other cons in this product other than the price. The product is really good and I am for once impressed with something from The Body Shop makeup range. Would suggest everyone to give it a go and feel radiant.

  1. Looks like the shimmer in it would make my oily face shine like a tubelight! For me, I think it would be good to use as a highlighter.

    1. hi Sabrina..nope it doesn’t give off any oily look at all even under tubes..i wear it to office and it’s all those concealed tube lighting..only compliments for that glow, no oiliness 🙂

      1. Thanks Sukanya. was about to say the same. No greasiNess at all so you need not worry Sabrina for having oily skin. U can try the testers at the store for self analysis.

  2. I purchased this last week & have been using this for office ever since..love the hydrated look it gives..my only grouse would be, apart from the price that is, the shimmer seems to stick more to my fingers than to my face :-/..n yet manages to give a radiant finish, gud na! other than that i agree with all your points, it’s a great product..may not be a “primer” primer per se as in making my make-up stay on for longer(i have super oily skin)..but anything for that fresh radiant glow! and no breakouts yay! *touchwood* 🙂 hey tw i got this for Rs.1610, they offered a 15% discount and two free samples of their tea tree face wash n new pore minimizer..you too, girl?

  3. Hi Sukanya. I got it just when it was initially launched in got discount of only member’s 10%. I am a home maker so don’t use on a regular basis. Any how come TBS never offers me any free samples of anything disappointed disappointed

  4. Hi Richa, the packaging and the product both are good. Currently The Body Shop is offering a 15% discount on their cruelty free range so will cost only 1610 as Sukanya said. Its worth purchasing.

  5. Nice review..the lil beads/pearls are so cute :)this would make a good highlighter …but for the price i’d rather continue using the ones from Benefit 🙂

  6. I am more in love with the pearls and the pretty girly packaging! At first glance this looks like it has a shimmery effect, I would surely try this out at the TBS store once, thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. Welcome Aarbee. I also felt that it has a shimmery effect so had left at first but then I checked when I got back home and liked it. Got it on the next visit to TBS.
