The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss Shower Gel Review

The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss Shower Gel

Hi Guys,
I’ll be reviewing a product from the Body shop 2012 Christmas edition. I have already reviewed the Ginger sparkle shower gel and this is another one of the other products from the Christmas edition. I have always liked vanilla fragrances but have only tried perfumes with vanilla as a note so far. This is the first time I’m tried out a shower gel (Or any other product) with purely vanilla fragrance. This product is totally different from the spiced vanilla range which came out couple of years ago. This is a pure sweet vanilla fragrance. I purchased the travel size shower gel as I already have a couple of shower gels at the moment.

My Experience with The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss Shower Gel

Since this is my first Vanilla shower gel I don’t have anything to compare this with. However, what I can say is “I love this stuff”. As soon as I open the bottle and get some on my sponge all I can smell is a sponge cake with vanilla icing ☺It smells of sweet vanilla, that is just like a dessert. The body wash is of a thick consistency so it is more like a cream. I love using this with a sponge because of the lathering effect. This is one product that can be used in winter or summer. This is because the consistency makes it apt for winter and the fragrance makes it apt for summer. The light yellow/beige shower gel is quite moisturising as well and for my normal to dry skin this can I can easily afford to skip moisturiser for summer. I use the body butter of the same range for fragrance layering and that effect lasts at least five to six hours. However, the fragrance of the shower gel itself doesn’t last for even a couple of hours on my skin as it is almost summer now. It might last more during winter but I’m not sure of it. Having a shower using this shower gel makes me crave for vanilla cake, cupcakes etc however I also use this when i get cravings for sweet and it actually helps me with the amount of cakes, sweets I eat.:)

Pros of The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss Shower Gel

• If you love vanilla fragrances then you should definitely try this product-a very indulgent fragrance
• It is not drying, it is actually moisturising on my skin
• Can be layered with the lotion or body butter from the same range for maximum fragrance.
• Contains community trade honey to provide moisturising effect.

Cons of The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss Shower Gel

• Contains Sodium Laureth sulphate
• This product is much pricier than shower gels from the normal fruits and flowers range.

IMBB Rating: 4.75/5

Will I repurchase this product?
I really want to repurchase this asap because this is a limited edition product. However, I have quite a few products at the moment from my recent hauls so I won’t be repurchasing only because of this reason.

    1. Hi Arja,

What I meant was the fragrance of the shower gel only lasts for a couple of hours …..however with the body butter it lasts much longer …… you can layer it with the lotion or the mist as well…. because of the humiditiy conditions here we rarely sweat for fragrances last longer anyway ….. 🙂

      where are you based ?

    1. Thanks Sukanya ,…..this and all other products from this range is very indulgent …..:) do give it a try …..I was getting quite bored with TBS until they introduced the scents of the world and now the christmas edition. 🙂
