The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream

I had reviewed TBS Vitamin E Oil a long time back and told you all how much I loved it. Soon after, I also bought TBS Vitamin E Night Cream and I will share my experience about that today.

Brand Claims:

With rich wheat germ oil to replenish and revitalize skin while you snooze. A rich, nourishing cream that helps replenish antioxidant and moisture levels overnight, when the skin is at its most receptive. It leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.

Night is an excellent time for our Vitamin E Night Cream because your skin can use it more effectively to fight free radicals while you sleep. Free radicals are unstable molecules that attack healthy cells in search of a needed electron. Once the healthy cell has been attacked, it loses an electron to the free radical, becoming an unstable radical itself and setting off a chain reaction. This damage leads to premature aging and disease. Antioxidants, such as vitamin E, neutralize free radicals by providing them with the needed electron and preventing them from harming healthy cells.

Key Ingredients:

Cocoa Butter- Is an excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature, leaving the skin feeling soft and silky smooth.
Glycerin – Is an effective moisturizer which helps improve softness and maximize hydration.
Vitamin E – Vitamin E conditions, nourishes, and protects the skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and healthy. It is a naturally powerful and one of the best antioxidants that help protect the skin against damaging environmental elements, such as the sun, pollution and cigarette smoke. Helps neutralise free radicals, which are destructive molecules that attack cell.
Wheat germ oil – Moisturises, nourishes and helps to condition the skin. As nature’s richest source of vitamin E, provides additional antioxidant protection and moisturisation.

Price:

Rs. 830 for 50 ml.

Scent:

It has a faint smell which fades away after half an hour of application. Unlike the smell of TBS Vitamin E Oil, which is not so pleasant, this one is much better. I will not call it very pleasant or floral though.

Texture:

Texture of the cream is light pink in colour and is a little thick, but it spreads easily on the face. Initially, it sits on top of the skin, but as you rub it in, it gets absorbed completely into the skin. It leaves your skin highly moisturized, but a little greasy looking.

My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream:

I have been using this cream for a few months now, and I am very happy with the results. Compared to the usual day creams, this cream is heavy, but it moisturizes the skin thoroughly and in the morning, you wake up to soft and smooth skin. Even though the cream is thick, it did not break me out and I am very happy with that. It does make your skin look oily. But since I use it only at night, it’s okay with me. If you have very dry skin and want to use this in the day time also, then you will have to blot it first and then apply powder so that the skin won’t look too oily.

I did not like that it comes in a tub packaging. I have to dip my hands when I am in a hurry and it’s not so hygienic. Also, I have read that creams containing anti-oxidants should not be exposed to air or light and should be sealed in tight tubes. So, I do wonder if the anti-oxidants in this tub packaging is still stable or not?

With continued usage, my skin looks healthy and texture has improved. There will be no dry patches or rough skin if you use this daily at night. I loved how it kept my skin well moisturized during the winters and I sleep peacefully thinking that I am giving my skin its daily dose of anti-oxidants. This cream will not make you fairer. Neither will it remove sun tan or pimple marks quickly. This made me a little sad, since TBS Vitamin E Oil helped me in removing tan and pimple marks quickly and I expected that from this cream too.

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream:

  • Extremely moisturizing and improves the texture of the skin.
  • Skin looks healthy and smooth to touch.
  • There will be no rough skin or dry patches if you use regularly.
  • Rich in Vitamin E and anti-oxidants.
  • Did not break me out.
  • Only a small quantity is required to cover the entire face and hence one tub lasts a long time.

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream:

  • Tub packaging is unhygienic and not suitable for an anti-oxidant cream.
  • The cream is heavy and will make the skin look greasy if you apply too much.
  • Will not make you fair or help in removing pimple marks quickly.
  • Oily-skinned girls might not like this since the cream is quite thick.
  • Contains parabens.

IMBB Rating:

4.2/5

Do I Recommend The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream?

Yes, for girls with normal or dry skin, this is a great cream to keep your skin well moisturized and rich in anti-oxidants. Although it did not break me out, I will suggest oily-skinned girls to try a sample first and only then go ahead and buy.
