Boots Apple Shower Gel – Hit or Miss?

I bring you another Boots shower gel review today! It’s been a while since I used Boots shower gel and my previous one i.e. the lemon shower gel got over, so I thought I could pick this up and give it a try to see how it fares. Read on to find more about this shower gel.

My Experience with Boots Apple Shower Gel:

Boots Shower Gel comes in thick plastic bottle which is transparent so you can see how much product is remaining. The front part has product details and the back part has the product description, ingredients etc.

It has a flip cap (which is hard to pull), so there isn’t any product leakage, but I find it annoying sometimes because it can hurt the nails. Overall, this bottle is good to look at and travel friendly.

The shower gel is fresh green in colour and I like the colour, it immediately refreshes me up! When taken on a loofah, it comes off as a very light minty green.  The consistency is a little bit on the runny side but works well. It smells like the green jelly that we used to eat in our childhood! If you have used Vaseline lip balm in Green Apple, you would know the kind of scent I am trying to describe.  It kind of smells like raw green apples. The fragrance does not linger around once you wash it off.

It lathers really well, but I feel like using more product, maybe because it doesn’t smell when I use it and I like my shower gels to be fragrant. When I wash it off, I still feel soapy, even though there is no product left on the skin.  I require a lot of water to get rid of that feeling.  Once I am out of the shower and dry, my skin feels clean and good.  It doesn’t dry out the skin, but it isn’t moisturising either.  I think it will work fine in the summers because during the winters, skin usually does feel dry.

Summing up the pros and cons:

Pros of Boots Apple Shower Gel:

• Affordable.
• Travel-friendly packaging.
• Doesn’t dry out the skin.
• Lathers well.
• Mild fragrance.
• Good quantity for the price.

Cons of Boots Apple Shower Gel:

• Feels soapy.
• Hard to open the cap.
• Fragrance does not linger.

Final Verdict:

This product is a hit or miss one. Some may like it, some may won’t. As far as I am concerned, I like it, but I would have loved it if the fragrance would have lingered around.  Overall, it’s cheap, looks good, and works well.
