Today, the review is about Bourjois Round Pot Blush No. 74 in the shade “Rose Amber.”

My Experience with Bourjois Rose Ambre 74 Little Round Pot Blush:

Bourjois is the drugstore brand that provides a good number of shades of foundation, compact powders and blushes, while other drugstore brands in the market have only 2-3 shades to cover a wide range of Indian skin tones. I was always a fan of its healthy mix foundation and powder. I was searching for a good affordable matte blush for office because I feel matte blushes look more sophisticated and are particularly work well with my oily skin and day time wear. Before Maybelline launched their “Cheeky Glow” and Revlon came with its range of blushes, I couldn’t find any other matte blush in drugstore. That’s why, I picked up Bourjois Round pot blushes.

Packaging:  The blush comes in a small, round, sturdy, and opaque packaging. The color of the packaging resembles the color of the blush, which make it easy to locate in my makeup stash. The blush inside is baked, so it is dome shaped and compactly pressed in the pan, there’s also no fall out. It has a small mirror and applicator inside, which honestly is of no use. The lid has a magnetic closing mechanism.

Formula:  The blush is baked, so like all baked products, it is also domed shape. The powder is finely milled and silky in texture. It blends easily without any patchiness. The powder is not chalky at all.

Shade:  It is a beautiful medium warm pinky-coral (dusty pink) blush, which looks beautiful on light to medium skin tones. It gives a beautiful natural flush to the cheeks. The blush is not highly pigmented, so no fear of going overboard and landing up with clown-like cheeks, it is good for beginners. The blush has no shimmer, it’s totally matte, but not chalky matte. It gives a beautiful luminous finish sans any shimmer, good for day wear and office wear. Somehow in the pictures, the pinkness of the blush does not seem to be clear, but it looks dusty pink in real.

Staying Power:  This blush lasts nicely for 4-6 hours over foundation and primer. It fades gradually without patchiness.

Cons of Bourjois Rose Ambre 74 Little Round Pot Blush:

• The magnetic closing mechanism is not secure enough to carry around on travels.
• Pricey for a drugstore blush.
• Quantity of blush is very less.

I highly recommend this blush, it’s a good matte blush for beginners, especially for light-medium skin tones.
