My Experience With Bourjois Rouge Edition Orange Pop-Up Lipstick:

Packaging: This comes in a simple yet classy black casing with a transparent base, so you can easily identify the shade in your never ending collection. I quite like the packaging, it is sturdy and travel friendly.

Shade: As always, the name intrigued me. I bought it online and pictured it would be something similar to MAC Morange. But this, is nowhere close to it. I wonder what is so orange about this. It is actually a peachy coral shade which might turn up as a bit orangey, but only on fair skin tones. Though the bullet doesn’t have visible shimmer, but the color does have a subtle sheen. So, it doesn’t fall flat neon-ish at all.

Fragrance: It is mildly perfumed, but the fragrance vanishes seconds after application.

Texture: It is a dream to apply and there is no pulling or tugging during application. It feels extremely light on the lips, moisturizes pretty well. It will accentuate dry patches badly, so it is best to clean up that dryness or it will be very difficult to pull this color off. It settles to somewhere between glossy and matte finish.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Orange Pop-Up Lipstick Swatch

Coverage: It is moderate to full depending on the pigmentation of lips. Though it looks pretty on its own, but it is better to apply a lip liner, since it has tendency to settle into lines.

Pigmentation: One swipe deposits about 70% of the color and it can be built up according to preference, but I personally feel that it becomes slightly cakey and a lot more neon-ish when swiped over and over. I prefer to keep it subtle.

Staying Power: It stays fresh for around 3 hours with light snacking in between and then it starts to fade. The good thing about this is that it fades with minimal stain. The claims of long lasting staying power might be true for darker shades, but certainly not for this.

The reason I got this lipstick was because, I was intrigued by the name and thought it might be close to Morange, but now you all can see that it is so not! The fact that it becomes neon-ish on multiple swipes makes it inappropriate for office wear.

I don’t seem to understand why they named it “Orange Pop-up,” it is clearly a lipstick version of Sally Hansen Coral Reef nail paint. So gals, pick this up only after careful consideration because for a price tag of 955/- , this is a risky pick. Overall, this is a dud for me as it simply doesn’t look good on me.

Pros of Bourjois Rouge Edition Orange Pop-Up Lipstick:

• Travel safe packaging.
• Subtle moisturizing.
• Does not bleed.
• Nicely pigmented.
• Feels light on lips.
• Settles in between glossy and matte finish.

Cons of Bourjois Rouge Edition Orange Pop-Up Lipstick:

• Settles into lines.
• Pricey.
• Will suit only fair skin tones.
• Fragrance might bother some noses.
