Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel Lipstick:

The packaging I found was very similar to the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks. Same square cover but it has a cute button at the side. You just have to press it and slip the lipstick towards the bottom.

04 Fuchsia Ardent : It’s not a true fuchsia colour. I would say it’s more of a brighter pink shade.  It’s not even so bright enough to be termed as fuchsia.

09 Sienne Kiss : It’s a soft brown colour. Might be a MLBB shade for a lot of women with deep wheatish complexion.

This si a pretty manicure set. The pastel coloured base coat, the transparent top coat and baby pink coat for the tips.

Bourjois Elastic Mascara : Rs 550

Bought it and it is going into the bin in a few days. icon sad Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel Lipstick Swatches & Photos I tried it as soon as I bought it and it stung my eyes as if I have put some alcoholic stuff on my lashes. Within a minute or two the stinging sensation was gone and my eyes were fine. After a few hours I touched my eyes and my lashes came in contact with my eyes again. I felt the same stinging sensation. icon sad Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel Lipstick Swatches & Photos Later I washed my eyes and my eyes looked blood shot. The mascara is waterproof because it didn’t start running when I splashed water on my face. I anyway had to remove it quickly with olive oil. Washed my eyes again, put eye drops and after that my eyes were back to normal.

There are no ingredients mentioned on the tube so I did a google search and found out that it has some extract from the rubber plant. Guess that particular ingredient is not suiting my eyes.  Would give it another try after a few days. icon sad Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel Lipstick Swatches & Photos

Also the elastic mascara promises 130% longer lashes. It’s a joke.

Bourjois Rose Exclusif Lip gloss : Rs 525

It’s a transparent gloss that adapts into the PH of your lips. It will be different colour on each woman. Would be fun to try . icon smile Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel Lipstick Swatches & Photos Has anyone of you tried it?

This is a cutie pie cheek sculpting brush. I didn’t find it super soft but it wasn’t scratchy either.

I found the lipsticks best among the lot. they looked very moisturizing, creamy and had no shimmer. The colours are great for most Indian skin tones with a good collection of peaches, pinks and browns. Wish I had picked up a lipstick instead of a mascara. icon sad Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel Lipstick Swatches & Photos

What do you think about the new launches?

Oh..bad mascara :-( Too bad..yup me too thinking the lipsticks look much nicer. Just curious..why are these brushes shaped this way..have seen similar shaped brushes..didn’t know what they are used for :idk:

Rati August 9, 2010 at 11:36 pm

You know I am going to stick with high end mascaras only now. :( Was just curious to try it . 500 bucks gone into the drain within a day. :(

These brushes are used for contouring. It fits in the contours of the cheeks well and gives a precise application. If you do contouring with a bigger brush it i s likely that you application might go above or below than it should actually be.

You pik up brushes according to the areas on your face. A bigger area would need a bigger brush- say your powder brush is pretty big. For cheeks you need bigger area to cover but not as big as the full face. So your blush brush is thinner than powder brush so that the application is precise and does not go all over. Same goes for eyes. For a full wash of colour you may use a dense brush but if you need colour only on the inner corner, you would need a thinner brush. so on and so forth..

Hmmmm..ya kind of made sense yup..tx. I feel bad too when I buy something cos its cheaper and then it doesnt work out…try out 3 like these and you wasted enough money to buy a higher end one na.

Rati August 9, 2010 at 11:49 pm

yeah. I even read some reviews today and there are barely any good reviews. I only wish i had one this before. :(

You remember the light alcoholic sensation you feel when you apply clinique clarifying lotion, felt the same.

Reply

Radhika August 10, 2010 at 12:03 am

Ohh..strange to have that sensation in an eye product!!

Reply

Rati August 10, 2010 at 12:05 am

That’s why I was wondering if it has some alcoholic content in it. No ingredients mentioned..

if the colorburst peach and this rose blah blah are so similar, i would choose the colorburst. gosh i’m so in love with them. i will definitely get another shade.

Reply

Rati August 10, 2010 at 12:13 am

yup, very similar. I just find them a little expensive for a drugstore brand. The quality looked excellent. he he , we are all becoming colorburst lippies fans. They are better than maybelline color sensationals. :)

Reply

Rima Kaur August 10, 2010 at 12:16 am

yes definitely.
but! no matter what is said about the colorbursts, applying the colorsensational is so very comforting! it’s like i’m applying a balm. my lips fall into this deep, beautiful sleep. i feel like applying the lipstick again and again and again…

Sad bout the mascara though… :-( (

The gloss would be fun to try… And of course safe.. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Reply

Rati August 10, 2010 at 10:22 am

Lipsticks are really good. Even the shades are so wearable and easy to pick. Most of them have brown peachy undertones that would compliment Indian complexions so well.

YEah gloss is the safest deal. You almost know what colour it would turn out to be. :P

Renuca August 10, 2010 at 10:25 am

lovely lipstick shades, my kinda warm colours :) , altho I agree 660 is rather pricey. Too bad abt the mascara, I hate it when the pdt doesnt work as expected :pain:

Reply

Rati August 10, 2010 at 10:31 am

I didn’t realize that there was no ingredient list mentioned. Mots high end mascaras come in a box with full list of ingredients mentioned so I thought this one must have some active ingredients mentioned on the tube itself. Nothing. 55o bucks gone within a day. :( (

Lipsticks looked really nice. Pigmented, creamy and great shades. :)

The lipsticks are really nice !!!! yeah 660 bucks is pricey but Bourjois is not a low end brand price-wise…its priced quite mid-way…

I was quite excited abt the elastic mascara when I saw it on their site and on some other blogs..sad it didnt work…

The gloss is really interesting….only thing is u cant be sure wht color it will turn out on ur lips :-)

Reply

Rati August 10, 2010 at 11:07 am

yeah but they have some really good price for their eye pencils and lip pencils no a-around 200 bucks. So I was wondering why lipsticks are so expensive. But I think even f0r 660 they would be totally worth it.

Actually HD, it might work for a few people but I think that some ingredient in the mascara didn’t suit my eyes in particular.

Yeah gloss is more of a collector’s item. Fun to have in your collection. :)

Reply

HD August 10, 2010 at 11:26 am

frankly I dont hv a single product from Bourjois…I am eyeing their blush #33 which I’ve heard is a dupe of the famous Nars one and the smoky eye trio in pink !!

I quite liked their blushes and the trios !!

Reply

Rati August 10, 2010 at 11:31 am

Their blushes are really good HD. Only that after a few months the top gets a little hard so you just scrape the top with brush that comes along with it and they look as new as ever. Totally worth the money.

Their trios are not very pigmented but are build able. Quality again is good. :)

Aarthi, the mascara might suit you. It just didn’t suit me, that’s about it. And can you believe the claim that you can get lashes 130% long? My lashes would be going above my eyebrows in that case. :rotfl: :rotfl:

You and your lip glosses. If you are picking it up, the review is coming soon then.

have you tried max factor masterpiece mascara? that is excellent stuff

Reply

Rati August 10, 2010 at 5:29 pm

I am aware that they are a part of same french cosmetic group. :) May be that’s the reason most bourjois products are so good.

Found this little info on net :

Bourjois is a French cosmetics brand founded in 1863 by Monsieur Alexandre Napoleon Bourjois, with the invention of the first powder blush, Pastel Joues.

In 1924 Coco Chanel approached Pierre Wertheimer, the then owner of Bourjois, to help a her create Parfums Chanel. A deal was struck where Chanel would recieve 10% of the profits, and Bourjois 90%. Parfums Chanel was a big success – Coco had practically given away the most lucrative side of her business. A decision she would come to regret.

Nowadays, Bourjois and the Wertheimer familly own and control all of the Chanel business.

Not tried yet. Mrunmayee gave it an excellent review. Should have picked that up instead. but curiosity kills. :P
