Hi,
I recently came across your blog and found it very interesting, especially for a 24-year-old girl like me who recently started using makeup and have got little knowledge about it. Recently, I have been reading a lot of make up blogs, but thought I should be writing to you looking at your posts where you try to cover the products that are costly and also products that are cheap.
Okay so here is my question:
What kind of products should I be investing in when I really can’t afford the costlier ones. I have just started with my first job and trying to make the ends meet and manage the finances and of course not over spend and save a little (which I have not been able to succeed till not). Recently, I bought Body shop’s vitamin E cream cleanser and it was like for Rs. 795 and then I was like this is too much for me, so for the toner, I had to go for Ayur’s Herbal Toner with Aloe Vera.
Can you really help me? Should I send you the product lists that I own to guide me? I really want to spend smartly and look good of course.

As a beginner, if you don’t want to spend much on skin care and makeup items, there are some brands which are pretty good, I would suggest Lotus herbals skin care products – cleansers, toners, moisturizers, sunscreens, foundations, etc., at affordable prices. For makeup – there’s Faces, colorbar, etc.
Additionally, I would also suggest you to subscribe you to subscription boxes such as Fab bag – at a monthly price of Rs. 599, they send you three or four sample/full sized makeup/skin care products, customizing the stuff for you. If you like them after trying, you can get the fuller version, this way you can try different products too.

I tried fab bag and it was a terrible experience. They have sent me lipstick shades with silver base.. black eye shadow even when I mentioned I’m dusky twice. Even in my third bag I was suppose to get a gift because of my past experience and they sent me a blue eye pencil. They don’t seem to understand even after sending them 100s of mails. So my next option could be Envy Box. But they are again costly and they send very small products.
At the age of 24 should I start using night creams?
Hi pragya you should totally use a night cream. Night creams ingredients are meant to repair and work for your skin at night time. It is always a good option to pick. You can pick up your products form brands such as aroma magic and biotqiue. The reviews of individual products are on imbb. you may check those out. 🙂
Hi Pragya, for CTM try Himalayas/Ayur/Cetaphil Cleanser and Fabindia Tea Tree Skin Toner/ Ayur toner. And for scrub try Everyuth Ultra Mild Scrub/Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Scrub/Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 Cleanser Scrub. These are very afforable and my skin type is combination/dusky comp.
Face serum – Neutrogena Fine Fairness Brightening Serum/Biotique Bio Dandelion Ageless Lightening Serum
For face pack try Biotique fruit/Pistachio Ageless Nourishing pack or Aroma Magic Glow Face Pack/ Aromamagic Brightening Beauty Pack. For makeup try Lakme Perfect Radiance Day Cream for daliy use and slightly dust normal face powder on face.
