I was anticipating these products as the beauty market is all about liquid lipsticks these days and here they are! Reading about liquid lip velvet might sound boring as we have tons of them in the market but the whipped cushiony formula with the semi-matte finish is something you would love to try. Considering most of the liquid lipsticks I own have either drying formula or flaky finish, I would say am impressed this time! My Experience with Burberry Magenta No. 33 Liquid Lip Velvet:

The liquid lip color comes in the signature Burberry packaging with a transparent plastic tube and a patterned grey twist-over cap. The cushiony doe foot applicator gives a smooth and streak free finish. It does have a mild fragrance, nothing bothersome though. I like the simple, sleek and travel-friendly packaging.

My shade “Magenta Number 33” appears to be a bright magenta pink shade on my skin tone. I love how it amplifies my complexion by giving that instant glow to my otherwise pale skin. This is a perfect shade for all seasons. I am sure it will look equally flattering in summers as it is not an over the top shade. I love its subtle yet vibrant sheen on my lips and I am pretty sure beauties from every age group will be able to pull it off with equal grace and ease. It provides nearly full color pay off in just one swipe, hence a win-win for beauties with pigmented lips as well.

Talking about the formula, it has a whipped creamy texture. This is quite unlike the usual wet liquid texture that I have noticed in most ABH and Smashbox liquid lipsticks so far. It reminds me of Tarte Tarteist lipsticks that I tried earlier; they have a similar velvet-matte texture sans the minty tingling sensation. Moreover, they do not dry completely on the lips; they maintain a semi-dry and velvet matte finish all through the wear time. This certainly means that this liquid lipstick by Burberry will transfer slightly. But it does not look flaky and does not peel.

I was a bit intimidated when I first saw this formula but it applies evenly and smoothly on my dry lips without emphasising the dry patches. It does not settle into the lip lines either. I have worn it on my super dry lips at times and never felt any irritation or flakiness. I do feel like licking my lips at times but other than that I have never found it overly drying or tricky for my normal-dry lips. I would still recommend using it on well scrubbed and moisturised lips as it really shows up like a dream on soft, supple lips.

It sits comfortably for 6-7 hours on my lips with mild transferring and fades into a subtle but strong pink stain. This stain needs a makeup remover to come off completely. To sum it up for you, if you are into mousse formula and semi-matte finish then you will certainly love this product. It has a totally different finish and texture than ABH, Kat Von D and other liquid lipsticks. I am really intrigued to explore more shades and I would definitely get this one again. I love it to the core!
