Summer, when it’s finally a break from all those warm and sweet-smelling fragrances, I find myself sampling all sort of citrus, aqua, fresh and some fruity fragrances in various stores. And after hours of sniffing on samples, I finally bought two of them, first “Burberry Summer,” which I am going to review today and the second one “DKNY Be Delicious Eau De Parfum,” which I will review later.
Top notes- pomegranate, orange, green leaf.
Heart notes- rose, freesia, lily.
Base notes- cedar wood, sandalwood, white musk.
The most common duo I always find in stores with a citrus top note is a bitter base as in Victoria’s Secret “Hello Darling” fragrance mist. And since I personally do not like the citrus-bitter combo, it’s hard for me to decide on such a fragrance. That said, “Burberry Summer” is about everything but a bitter base which made me go for it.

My Take on Burberry Summer Eau De Toilette Women:
It is heavy on the citrus accords (mainly orange) and other watery fruits which kind of lasts for about 10-15 minutes and then it blends into a mild and delicate rose and freesia. I have never smelt a pomegranate in the top notes though. The base notes are not much exceptional but plain musk and a woody fragrance. There is an underlying sweet-citrus frag throughout.
Longevity: Honestly, I have never had a perfume that dries up as quick as this one. It hardly lasts for 4 to 5 hours, HARDLY, and it’s not like if you put loads on, that would increase the silage, NO, do not even try that *abort mission* because if you put like 12-15 sprays, the next 5 minutes of your life is going to be intolerably citrus and acidic 😛
Although the packaging is travel friendly and all that buff, but dude, let’s be real here, I did not pay INR 3950 for 100 ml to apply it three times a day and finish the bottle in just one month. Silage is disappointing!
Well, just after the first few uses, I found out that I bought this perfume just for its top notes or maybe I was way too excited about a non-citrus-bitter combo that made me buy it. The dry down isn’t interesting but the smell does become less harsh as it settles. It is okay for summer, nothing special, it’s kind of the product that does the job to an extent, but doesn’t deliver fully to your expectations. It fades away really quickly and sometimes, just sometimes; it leaves an astringent and acidic smell which is worse!
Pros of Burberry Summer Eau De Toilette Women:
- Absolutely brilliant top notes for summer.
- It kind of stands in the middle, neither too bold nor too sweet, so it’s an option for you if wear that kind of fragrance.
- Handy and functional packaging.
Cons of Burberry Summer Eau De Toilette Women:
- It fades away way too quick (4-5 hour maximum).
- The mix of notes is blunt and boring.
- Leaves an acidic/astringent smell sometimes.
- Isn’t worth the value.
Would I Repurchase Burberry Summer Eau De Toilette Women?
No, well obviously if you don’t have a problem applying, reapplying and applying again till you probably finish the whole bottle within a month then buy it; otherwise, there are better choices out there.

I remember using this perfume! This used to be one of my favorite fragrances but as you said, the staying power let me down too 🙂 😀
Its some notes and performance seems just like Arden Beauty…i feel…Such a disappointment from a reputed brand :/
