Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream Review

Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream Review

Hi All,

I am currently using some products from the brand Burt’s Bees and would like to share my experience with you. The product I will be reviewing today is the “Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream.”  I have used Burt’s Bees lip balms in the past and the products have not impressed me much. Since Burt’s Bees make a huge variety of lip balms, I might have chosen the wrong ones. However, I have recently started using some body care products from Burt’s Bees and am liking them.

My Experience with Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream:

I have used hand creams by Nivea and L’Occitane in the past and wanted to try something new.  I purchased this hand cream from Burt’s Bees about a month ago and have been using it daily. The texture of this hand cream is thicker than other hand creams I have used in the past. It comes in a squeeze-out tube and the cream itself is of light yellow colour.  Fragrance wise, it smells more of sesame oil than shea butter which is a pity because shea butter smells way better than sesame oil. The fragrance also smells quite medicinal and might be a turn off for some, especially because we are used to hand creams with very good fragrances.

Burt's Bees

The product even though is a bit thick spreads well and absorbs well. This leaves skin a bit greasy but that does not bother me as I use this mostly during night time.  This hand cream does what it claims though. It leaves my winter skin totally moisturised and repaired. All dry patches due to the cold weather are gone for at least a couple of days after using this. After using it continuously for a week, skin was totally repaired and I didn’t have to apply hand cream for another couple of days. This product is great for people who do lots of gardening, washing and works wonderfully on the palms as well. However, I wouldn’t recommend using this during summer because of the greasiness.

This product is also easy to carry in my handbag, but is heavier than other hand creams I have used in the past.  I however use this only at night time because of the greasiness and the smell. After applying this and pulling on my body shop cotton gloves, my hands feel soft and moisturised when I wake up in the morning and wash my hands.

Why I Love Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream:

  • Burt’s Bees products contains more than 98% of natural ingredients (I’m happy to ignore the 2%)
  • Does not contain parabens.
  • Conditions, repairs and softens dry and damaged skin.
  • Contains many natural moisturising ingredients like shea butter, sesame oil, sunflower seed oil, cocoa seed butter, willow extract and rosemary leaf extract.

What I Do Not Like about Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream:

  • Smells medicinal and is the most weirdest smelling hand cream I have used so far, not very suitable for day time use.
  • Greasier and thicker than other hand creams.
  • Non-availability in India.

These cons don’t bother me much as the product does what it claims, it doesn’t claim to smell great.

IMBB Rating:

4/5.
