Burt’s Bees Brimming Berry 514 Lipstick Review

I had recently picked up a few shades from the newly-launched Burt’s Bees lipstick range. I have already reviewed the shade “Magenta Rush” and “Fuchsia Flood.” Today, I am reviewing the shade “514 – Brimming Berry.” Read on to find out more.

My Experience with Burt’s Bees Brimming Berry 514 Lipstick:

Packaging:  The lipstick comes in a brown rectangular plastic packaging with a honeycomb design. You can see the shade of the lipstick from the honeycomb and the name itself appears on a sticker at the bottom.  The packaging looks quite attractive, but there are a few things I do not like about the packaging. Firstly, the packaging is very light and hence feels slightly cheap. Secondly, the cap shuts a bit too tight for my liking and I need to pull it with a little force to open.

And lastly, the lipstick does not swivel all the way down the barrel. This can lead to accidental nicking off of the tip of the lipstick.

Shade/Pigmentation:  #514 Brimming Berry is true to its name and is a lovely berry shade. In fact, I have realized that all the shades in this range have names which exactly match the shade in the bullet.

Brimming Berry is a very beautiful shade which will look good on all skin tones. This lipstick has a decent pigmentation. It does not deliver a full-on bold color in one swipe, but enough color to cover the lips. You can layer it on to intensify the color. Layering does not lead to clumping of the lipstick. In general, the pigmentation of this range of lipsticks is towards the sheer side. I found “Brimming Berry” to be the most strongly pigmented amongst the shades that I possess.

Texture/Finish/Lasting Power:  The texture of this lipstick feels like a thick balm. It glides smoothly on the lips and there is absolutely no tug at all.  The formula is indeed very moisturizing due to the presence of ingredients like Beeswax, Moringa Oil, Raspberry Seed Oil, and Vitamin E.

For a moisturizing lipstick, the lasting power is good too. It lasts on me for about 5 hours with some snacking and light meals. It does transfer but not too much and the best part is that my lips continue to feel soft even after the lipstick has worn off. This lipstick formula will surely appeal to those with dry lips. The finish of the lipstick is a lovely semi-matte one with sheen.

To summarize, this is a 100% natural lipstick with the goodness of a lip balm, just the right amount of color and a good staying power – a must-have according to me.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Burt’s Bees Brimming Berry 514 Lipstick?
While I am loving this entire range, I would surely recommend this particular shade to all of you.  This is one shade I will repurchase if at all I end up finishing it.
