Canmake Candy Wrap Lip – #13 Mellow Berry Milk Review

Hi guys! I love Canmake products. Most of their products are a hit in my book, so I was excited to finally get around to buying a gloss from their line. Let’s see how this one fared.

My Experience with Canmake Candy Wrap Lip  – #13 Mellow Berry Milk:

Packaging: This gloss has a very classic-looking packaging. It has a silver top with a doe foot applicator. The applicator loads enough product to go over your lips. But you have to go over the lip a few times to get the entire lip coated.

Shade: My shade is in #13 Mellow Berry Milk. I love the fact that it is the perfect colour for me, where it tones down other lipstick shades I have that are not flattering on their own and makes them wearable for everyday. It makes them bam!

Pigmentation/Texture: The formula is very thin, as expected from any gloss. But the most unique aspect of this product and how it trumps others is the fact that it is very moisturising. You can see this while doing swatches; after you rub away the swatch with your finger, you will still feel a balmy texture remaining. I use it purely on top of a lipstick instead of a stand-alone gloss. But I didn’t face any feathering or bleeding issues with it when I wore it alone. It is very slightly tacky and feels like a glossy balm. It is the most unusual in my collection because of the moisture aspect. It is very light unlike some which tend to feel heavy on the lips. Once spread on the lips, it does not clump up into tiny particles. They are very shiny and look amazing on the lips. Because of all these reasons, it has changed my gloss experience completely.

Pigmentation/Staying Power: Japanese colour products are known to be very sheer and very lightly pigmented. So this product nicely fits into that umbrella and is not any different from my expectations. It is very sheer. I wish colour products here would catch up with US and UK and bring out more pigmented products. This product is very see-through and transparent on my pigmented lips. This product does not last very long on my lips. If you eat and/or drink, these will go away. Otherwise they tend to stay just a couple of hours on me.

Taste/Scent: I understand this is an usual point to discuss, but it does not have any taste and is very very mildly scented. This makes it so much more bearable than my Maybelline Elixir glosses. Those are good but I taste them when eating and that is not pleasant!
