Today, I’m going to review “Passionate Kisses Skin Silkening Body Lotion” from Victoria’s Secret.  I tried it first when my mum-in-law got it from the US. Since then, we are a fan of it.

Product Description:

A sweet intoxicating blend of Cherry, Vanilla and Musk.  Slip into petal softness with our Skin-Silkening Body Lotion. Enriched with natural skin soothers, conditioners, and sensual fragrance, it leaves skin soft, silky, and scented with teasingly tempting Passionate Kisses. I found on internet that it’s a Limited Edition Collection.

Ingredients:

Water, PPG-3 Myristyl Ether, Propylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Stearate, Mineral Oil, Fragrance, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Cetyl Phosphate, Stearyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Methylparaben, Tetrasodium EDTA, Cyclomethicone, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Meadowsweet Extract, Linden Extract, Elder Flower Extract, Hawthorne Extract, Chamomile Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Red 33, Green 3.

My Take on Victoria’s Secret Garden Passionate Kisses Skin Silkening Body Lotion:

I love it and not only it has amazing fragrance, but it makes my skin soft and supple. I love to use it on my hands after a wash. I feel it takes great care of them. The flip-top cap really comes handy, especially when I’m in a hurry after I have finished some work and headed for a hand wash. The silkening effect is amazing. It really feels like you have put your hand in silk gloves or silk gown :love:

The lovely smell lingers on for a while. Initially, it spreads like that of a perfume, but then, slowly fades away into a mild and softer one.

In the above picture, my camera seems to have reflected extra light, but the product is really not greasy and gets absorbed in no time.

• Makes skin soft and supple.
• Superb skin silkening effect

• Gets absorbed quickly.
• Comes in a flip-top handy bottle.
• A little goes long way.
• Not tested on animals.

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Garden Passionate Kisses Skin Silkening Body Lotion:

• The only cons I can think of is the price which is on higher side.

After my good experience with the Chanel Joues Contraste blushes, I decided to give their tweed blush a shot. I have it for almost 2  -3 months and I totally love it. It’s a plummish pink based blush with peachy weed effect and very soft silver shimmers in it. It goes on as a soft rosy pink.. very natural flush of color . The texture is smooth but the pigmentation is medium buildable. It’s a totally luxury working with this blush. You apply it, it gives that smooth soft glowly flush on your cheeks and then you gently build it up according to your preference. If you like very pigmented blushes,  Joues Contrastes would be a better way to go. The shimmers are very subtle.  They just add a bit of glow to cheeks. That staying power is amazing- stays all day long without going patchy. Tweed Rose 30 would be best for those with light to medium skin tones. It’s a very sophisticated blush and you can’t go wrong with it. Definitely recommend it.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil

After reading about the benefits of all kinds of vitamins, I too wanted to add some to my skin care routine. I checked out The Body Shop in SGS Mall, Pune and tada, they have Vitamin C and Vitamin E range.

Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant which fights the aging process and can be used for treating a variety of skin issues. The body shop Vitamin E range consists of around 20 products with Face wash, Moisturizers, Mask, Face oil, Scrub, Face serum, Eye cream, Toner, Soap, etc. I was using Olay 7-in-1 serum and cream religiously during that time and hence did not want to buy another moisturizer and so Vitamin E Facial oil became the chosen one.

Product Description by Body Shop:

An aromatic, pre-moisturiser treat for the skin to boost moisturisation, nourish the skin when used as part of a daily regime. Absorbs quickly into the skin to leave it feeling soothed, silky-smooth and perfectly prepared for your daily moisturiser. Ideal for dry skin. Non comedogenic.

Price:

985 INR for 15 ml.

Main Ingredients:

• Wheat germ, rice bran and soya oils – are naturally high in Vitamin E.
• Grape seed and jojoba oils – to nourish.
• A blend of essential oils including rose – to soothe the skin and the senses.

Full ingredients:

Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil, Corylus Avellana Nut Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Glycine Soja Oil, Oryza Sativa Bran Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Boswellia Carterii Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Linalool, Citronellol, Limonene, Geraniol, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Vetiveria Zizanoides Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa Seed Oil, Chamomilla Recutita Extract, Citral.

How To Use:

Gently massage onto face and neck before moisturizer. The oil comes in a hard bottle with a dropper. The cap can be unscrewed to take out the dropper and simply squeeze the black tip to drop the oil into your hands.

Texture and Smell:

Consistency is the same as normal coconut oil or other cooking oil. It is free flowing and not very thick. It has a strong smell which I will not call very pleasant or floral, but it fades away after half an hour or so.

My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil:

I use this oil in my night-time regime only.  I wash the face, massage 3 to 4 drops of oil, and then apply moisturizer over it. Initially, I did not notice much difference. Usually, the next morning, there would be a glow on my face because of the oil, that was it.  However, as days passed by, I noticed visible improvement in my skin texture. My pores became small, sun tan got removed, acne marks faded super fast, fine lines reduced and I got very healthy skin with no dryness at all. I promise, I am telling the truth here and only truth. :haanji:

In the initial few days when I went to sleep after applying the oil, I had nightmares of me waking up with bumps all over the face; however, nothing of that sort happened. I even suspect there is a rosy glow to my face nowadays :mirror: I am loving it!

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil:

• Keeps the skin well moisturized throughout the day.
• Easily absorbs into the skin, only a very light greasiness remains which can be easily blotted away.
• With continuous usage, skin becomes smooth and healthy.
• Helps in fading scars or acne marks.
• Non-comedogenic, did not break me out even after applying moisturizer on top of the oil.
• Can be used before applying your usual moisturizer to get added benefits.
• For oily skin, there is no need for another moisturizer after applying this oil.
• Helps in removing the sun tan.
• Pores and fine lines get reduced, although do not get completely diminished.
• Lasts for a long time since only 3 to 4 drops are required to cover the entire face and neck.
• The dropper is handy for taking out the oil and there is no spillage or wastage.
• Safe to use daily, I have been using it daily for the past 1.5 months and I am very happy with the results.

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil:

• The price is on the higher side.
• It will make the face oily if applied in a larger quantity, it is better suited for night-time healing.
• I have combination skin and it did not break me out, but oily-skinned ladies should check first if this will create pimples before starting to apply on a daily basis.

Will I Range The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil?

Yes, it will take a long time to finish up this bottle though.

Sanjeev and I have been contemplating about separating our Fashion looks from makeup looks. After a lot of brain stroming we created a Look Book. I quite like it. It’s nice. Mumtaz Herbal Kajal with Almond Oil

Since the time I was young, I have been a huge fan of kajals.  I have tried almost all kajals available in the market.  I am not really a fan of using kajals laden with chemicals on my waterline.  For that, I prefer herbal kajals and then I came across Mumtaz Herbal Kajal and I fell in love with it, so I wanted to share my experience with all of you.

Rs. 90 for 1.5 gm.

Product Description:

• Rich,dark and lustrous.
• Formulated on ayurvedic principles.
• As pure as homemade kajal.
• Does not smudge or spread.
• Ideal for sensitive eyes.

Ingredients:

Cow’s ghee, black iron oxide, badam ka tel, sufoof-e-syah, bhimseni kafoor, waxy base.

My Take on Mumtaz Herbal Kajal with Almond Oil:

This is the Mumtaz Herbal Kajal with almond oil and it’s the “gold series.”  It comes in a cute gold pack, looks more like a lipstick case.  Its like a twist-up normal kajal. On application, it feels cool and the best part is that it stays cool for a long time and not just on application.  It feels great, though it smudges after like 3-4 hours, but I end up using it a lot.  I use it on my waterline usually.  I have been using this for a week now, so cannot comment on its “lash growing” properties. I just love how it makes my eyes feel and I am in awe of this kajal. I love this kajal and will keep using this because it makes my eyes feel fresh and stay fresh.

• Feels cool on application and the sensations stays for a long time.
• Cute packaging and travel friendly.
• Good intensity of colour.
• Herbal hence safe for use on waterline.

• Smudges.
• Limited availability.

L’Occitane Almond Apple Toning Cider

Well, I am back with another review from L’occitane.  Unlike the other products which were all purchased by me, this was a gift from a friend. She already had the bigger size product, so when she received this 50 ml travel-sized bottle (as a gift with purchase), she gave it to me knowing that I drool over L’Occitane products  She gave it to me about six months back, but I started using it only a couple of months back and I am loving it.

I am usually quite lazy to use a toner.  I just cleanse and then moisturize my skin.  However, this cute little product made me tone my skin diligently.  I use this every night after cleansing my skin with the brightening face wash from L’Occitane or the St. Ives Scrub.

As I do not wear makeup on every single day, when I do wear makeup, I first remove it using my Neutrogena Cleansing Wipes and then I use this toner.  My main aim to use this product is to clean and refresh my skin prior to applying my face cream. I do not have large pores, so pore minimizing is not a requirement for me.

Product Description From L’Occitane:

This facial toner instantly tones and refreshes the skin and visibly refines its texture. Its gentle formula combines organic apple cider vinegar, to tighten pores and reduce their appearance, with the toning properties of almond proteins.

Results:

Immediately, skin is fresh, soft and better toned. Day after day, pores are tightened.

Price:

Since it was a gift, I’m not sure of the price (approximately $25 for a 200 ml bottle).

Key Ingredients:

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Almond Extract.  Contains Alcohol.

Best Before/Expiry Date:

Best if used within 12 months of opening.

My Take on L’Occitane Almond Apple Toning Cider:

With L’Occitane products, I have learnt that if it says six months, the product contains more organic ingredients. If more than six months, organic ingredients are less, this is what the SA explained to me.

As we all know, apple cider vinegar is well known for its toning and pore-minimizing benefits.

This travel-sized version has a fine spray nozzle so that this toner can be used as a facial mist as well. Usually, with other toners that I had used previously, I had to use cotton wool to dab toner on to my skin. However with this, you can spray toner on to your face and then massage with your fingers or with a piece of cotton wool. The spray is very fine and soft on the skin, similar to the Avene thermal water spray. However, I have seen the 200 ml bottle in the store and it just has a screw-on lid and did not seem to have a spray nozzle.

The product itself smells similar to apple juice, yes, I’m not joking. After application, my skin feels refreshed and clean, but feels a little bit tight for at least 30 seconds. The best part about this toner is that even though this product contains alcohol, it did not dry my skin at all. I have only used two brands of toners before this, one from Nivea Young and another from Biore.  I really had bad experiences with both of them and that’s another reason why I was quite averse to toners, both even smelled of alcohol 

L’Occitane Apple Cider Toner even makes my skin feel smoother the next day.  I don’t know how this happens, but I do really feel it; however, as I do not have large pores, I can’t comment on the pore-minimizing effects.

What Made Me Fall in Love with L’Occitane Almond Apple Toning Cider:

• Refreshes and smooths skin.
• Cannot smell alcohol and this does not dry skin.
• Fine spray mist is easy to use and travel friendly.
• I love the smell of apple juice, so I love this fragrance.
• Only a small quantity is enough, so I can use this travel-sized version for ages.

What I Do Not Like About L’Occitane Almond Apple Toning Cider:

• I don’t like the fact that this toner contains alcohol even though I can’t detect/smell it.
• Around $25 for a 200 ml toner is expensive, according to my opinion.

I can’t think of any other cons.

IMBB Rating:

4/5.  I have deducted one point because I feel $25 for a toner is expensive and because this product contains alcohol.
