Whenever I see women with n*de lipsticks, I also dream of trying one. Especially when the “Kardashians” flaunted them, and Rati reviewed one of their kits, I badly wanted to try one. In the quest to find good n*de lip color I got the Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother. Let’s see how this fared.

My Experience with Catrice 040 Coffee To Go Beautifying Lip Smoother:
I had my eyes on this product for a very long time and finally I decided to pick it. I always had doubt in my mind as most of them come in n*de shades and I was a bit skeptical and finally I decided that I would try on some n*des.
The Beautifying Lip Smoother comes in a tube and the applicator is soft and sponge like and white in color. Coffee To Go is a n*de color and more like the color of latte. The lip smoother is creamy and thick. It has a sweet fragrance and taste! Even though I do not want to, somehow my tongue licks my lipsticks! The packaging is good!
I do not know why the name ‘lip smoother’ was given to this product. It doesn’t smoothen the lips at all. If applied to cracked lips, the lip smoother sits in between the creases. The staying power and hydrating power is good if not licked away! The lips stayed hydrated for good 6 hours and the lip smoother was still present and was glossy; it has a sticky texture.
Now coming to the part, why I purchased it; I wanted to try nude browns and I purchased this and to my horror the color seriously looks hideous on me and you can see it through the swatches. I have pigmented lips and wheatish dusky complexion and this color doesn’t compliment my skin tone at all! I never wouldn’t go out with this lip smoother applied. Of the colors present, this one was the one I liked but this failed me! The color looks like a nude brown and sits on the top of my lips like a nightmare. I regret buying the product and I have been using it over my lip liners to create a smoother effect. But other than that I have no use with this lip smoother and it is a big fail!

• The color is hideous.
• The texture is sticky.
• The applicator sponge gets dirty and washing it a big issue!
• Doesn’t compliment dusky skin tones.
• Not a lip smoother.
• Settles in between the cracks on the lips.
• Costlier than normal lip balms.
• A ‘Nightmare’ to me!
• Limited shades.
