Caudalíe Paris Cleansing Water-Review

Hey everyone! I never take risks when it comes to buying expensive skincare and cosmetic products. So most of the time, it goes without saying, I frantically open IMBB on my cell phone and search for the product review! (I think many would agree with me! 🙂 I have this friend of mine who is exactly opposite to me when it comes to splurging on high-end cosmetic products, and recently she sent me some samples of a few luxury brand items that she got from a website. This product, in particular, caught my eye, because I had never heard of this brand before. I spent some time researching about it and this is what I found.

Caudalíe Pars was found by Mathilde Thomas and the entire range is inspired by her vineyards inBordeaux,France(it somehow feels exotic and glamorous when you read stuff like this!). They believe in natural ingredients and hence all their products are free from parabens, mineral oils, SLS, animal ingredients etc. They are against animal testing and support various environmental organizations. Their website also talks about their products which have ingredients like grape water etc. So now that you about the company, lets dive into the review, shall we?

Its high-tolerance formula is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive, thanks to its moisturizing and soothing active ingredients. Use Cleansing water with a cotton pad on the face and eyes, morning and evening. No need to rinse.

Price:

$14 for 100 ml (according to their website) – roughly Rs.763/-

Ingredients:

Aqua(Water), Poloxamer 184, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycerin, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Methyl Propanediol, Sodium Chloride, Polyaminopropyl Biaguanide, Parfum(fragrance) , Bisabolol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenylpropanol.

Zero percent parabens, phenoxyethanol. Opthamologically and dermatologically tested. Soap-free.

Some of the chemicals above were tagged as plant derivatives.

My experience with Caudalíe Paris Cleansing Water:

Now I should start with the smell, which is a nice citrusy fragrance. It is not overpowering and fades away after you finish cleansing. The consistency is so watery that you will feel like you are dipping cotton in actual water. The bottle is translucent and when you shake it, you will be able to see little soapy bubbles on the surface. I couldn’t swatch the product on my hands since it is clear and runny, so I poured some drops onto a spoon to give you a real idea. Looks just like water right? I also clicked a picture of the bubbly water in the bottle. The packaging is sturdy, with a screw cap and a very narrow bottleneck.

When it came to performance, it delivered almost everything that it promised. I have dry skin, and after cleansing with the product, I did not experience very dry or stretchy skin. Although, the skin didn’t feel moisturized either. So that means, if you have oily skin, you will be able to remove most of the oiliness. For dry-skinned ladies, your skin might feel soft immediately afterwards cleansing, but you would have to moisturize separately afterwards. But I was super excited about the makeup removal claim! Ladies, I have never come across anything like this for makeup removal. It is absolutely miraculous! You will get an idea when you look at my makeup removal swatch pictures. For testing swatches, I threw in some long-staying lipsticks, cream and powder eye shadows and a waterproof mascara. And look at the results! I have also tried using this after I wash my face with my face wash and it successfully removes even the tiniest of dirt/makeup particle from my face!

Pretty good, right? Want to know what’s the best part? Removing waterproof mascara is like a breeze when you use Caudalíe cleansing water. No painful tugging or rubbing is required and it does not sting your eyes! Woot woot!! I have decided that I’ll save this for removing makeup alone, because I already have a cream-based cleanser for my CTM routine. I don’t know what I’ll do if it finishes, because I couldn’t find it anywhere online , except for some US online shopping websites.

Pros of Caudalíe Paris Cleansing Water:

  • Very good cleanser, removes dirt effectively.
  • Excellent makeup remover, needs only a few swipes.
  • Does not sting eyes.
  • Works for all skin types.
  • Does not contain parabens or SLS.
  • Claims to have natural ingredients derived from plant origins.

Cons of Caudalíe Paris Cleansing Water:

  •  Doesn’t leave the skin moisturized.
  • Might have to use more quantity of the product while cleansing, because of its watery consistency.
  • Not available in India. 🙁

IMBB Rating:

4/5
