Celebrating Diwali in a Unique Way

Celebrating Diwali in a Unique Way

By Jaspreet K.

Hey friends, Diwali is here, we are all preparing to celebrate this festival of lights in a unique way. Here I am sharing some of my ideas with you. Here are few ways how you can celebrate this Diwali in a unique way.

diwali decor

Home decoration:

When we talk about home decoration, the first thing that comes in our mind is cleaning our home before Diwali. That mainly includes all carpets, fans, chandeliers etc. Apart from cleaning, you can hang a bell at the entrance of your home which can act as a door chime and also you can also put colorful rangoli-based on themes on the floor to give your home a unique ambiance.

Diwali with flowers:

Get to the nearest florist and buy a bunch of colorful, sweet smelling flowers for your home decoration. You can buy flowers from strings to blooms which can be hung on walls and stair-case railings of your home. Decide a theme and arrange the flowers accordingly. Last year, I specially brought about 30 small glass bowls and filled them with water and flower petals with one floating candle inside and placed them everywhere in home including staircase and got compliments from guests.

Diwali with gifts:

Gifts play an important role on Diwali. Diwali seems incomplete without them so buy gifts for your loved ones. You can add your signature motif to the gifts you are giving away. Motifs like a peacock feather for good luck and others can be added.

Diwali with ethnicity:

If you have decided to adorn ethic attire, that’s well and good, but in case your dress doesn’t depict ethnicity, add an ethnic touch to it.

Diwali with bonfire:

Not many of us have an idea about creating a Diwali bonfire. A bonfire can be created in any space with twigs and lumber pieces. You can also plan to create a bonfire in your backyard, on the terrace and in your garden; wherever you feel it’s safe. Even a small space can accommodate a fire-friendly vessel. The best time to create a bonfire would be post evening along with family, snacks, tea and some games.

Diwali mehendi afternoon:
diwali mehendi
We ladies love to apply mehendi, especially during this festive season. So if your karva chauth mehendi has faded then its time for Diwali mehendi. To add charm to the festival, you can organize a mehendi night or a mehendi afternoon and invite all your friends. Enjoy that time with snacks, gossips, few games and dance or music. This will create an exquisite festive mood.

Hope you like my ideas and these unique ideas help you celebrate a fabulous, safe and happy Diwali!
