CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Review

Even though we all do our best to provide the best care and preventive measures to protect our skin, I still believe that specialists and their expertise can help a lot when things are beyond our control and our own health are at risk. I know that genetics and hygiene also play a lot in our skin condition, but thank goodness for technology it is now possible to obtain specialists’ care in a jar.

My Experience with CeraVe Moisturizing Cream:

I found this buried in the middle of other moisturizing creams and lotions from other brands. Maybe because its price is within my budget range at $12, the words “developed with dermatologists” caught my attention.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Review2

Cerave Moisturizing Cream promises to moisturize skin without leaving it feeling greasy and without clogging the pores. It is also formulated to be mild enough for sensitive skin that it has the seal of approval from the National Eczema Association. It boasts its unique patented MultiVesicular Emulsion delivery technology which basically provides protection and nourishment to the skin over time. It also aids in restoring the skin’s natural protective barrier against harmful elements with continued use.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Review1

True enough, Cerave Moisturizing Cream does not feel too greasy and sticky on the skin and it is unscented – perfect for those who are easily irritated with perfume. Just to give it an even more test, I also used Cerave Moisturizing Cream on my arms and stubborn skin on my elbows and knees. True enough, I feel softness and smoothness in those areas immediately after application. I have been using Cerave Moisturizing Cream for more than 3 weeks now, and while I like how it moisturizes my skin, it somewhat feel a little heavy on my face. Since my facial skin is a combination of oily and dry, I have to be extra careful not to make it even oilier by over using this. But I still continue to use this on my other dry areas, like knees and elbows and on my sensitive ones like the décolletage and it works just as well in keeping the areas I have mentioned moisturized.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream Review3

Pros of CeraVe Moisturizing Cream:

• Mild and non-irritating
• Lasting hydration after application
• Does not block or clog pores which is the main cause of blackheads
• Not greasy
• Affordable

Cons of CeraVe Moisturizing Cream:

• Packaging! Since it is in a jar, double dipping is unavoidable and hence may tend to be a little unhygienic
• Tends to feel a little heavy on the face

I have only started using this product and I have seen some satisfying results, as they promised. I am even considering sending some Cerave products to my sister back home since she has very sensitive skin and very prone to irritation.

  1. I have always read good things about CeraVe products, and would love to use them some day. But, right now in India, they are available after insane price hike!

  2. Very well explained Faye, CeraVe is a brand I have heard a lot about but have not once tried. Glad to know that this moisturizing cream provides a good hydration without any greasy finish! 😀
