Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil-Control Foam Wash Review

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil-Control Foam Wash

Hi all,

Today I’d be reviewing one of the best facewashes for oily skin. I have been a loyalist of TBS teatree facefash and Sebamed clear face cleansing foam for almost 7yrs now. While sebamed was a wonderful facewash I wanted to try something new and this time around I was suddenly suffering from severe acne, like really it was all over my face. My derma then asked me to try this face wash. Lets see how it fared.
Price:

INR 1600( I was really shocked seeing this kind of pricing for a Cetaphil product, while googling I found out that it retails for about $10 in America)

My experience with Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil-Control Foam Wash :

This product comes in a white bottle with a purple pump. The packaging is quite sturdy and travel friendly. I have travelled with it and it hasn’t messed up the contents in my bag so far. The consistency of this is a bit on the runny side. U just need half a pump to cover your entire face. This is a pretty strong facewash so pls don’t go overboard with this else it will sting like hell.

The results of this facewash are visible almost immediately on patting the face dry. Now I have oily skin with visible pores and when I used this my pores were almost invisible unless I was trying to see them through a magnifying mirror. It keeps my skin oilfree for 4hrs+ in this humid weather. I have just used this facewash and left my house without even powdering my face with a compact and yet I couldn’t see any oily or greasy film on my face. Isn’t it great girls?

Also it has a mild baby product type smell, not Johnson’s, something else, I’m unable to locate it! And it works well on my acne too. Ever since I used this it has not only made my skin super supple but it has also prevented any new zits to come on my face. It has helped in subsiding my previous zits too. But it doesn’t work on scars, it doesn’t claim to either so I ain’t complaining.

• Travel friendly packaging.
• Minimizes the appearance of pores.
• Stops formation of new pimples and subsides existing ones.
• Tightens skin and also keeps it supple at the same time.
• I like the fragrance.

4.5/5

Would I recommend/repurchase Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil-Control Foam Wash?

Well if your looking for something that works on your acne as well as your pores then look no further! But if you are just targeting your acne then go for the Sebamed one(It’s brilliant for curbing acne and retails at 1/3rd the price!)

  2. Hi Roshini! i too have extremely oily skin and i can so much relate to you on this. I have been using Neutrogena acne wash for 3 years and currently switched to FASH which my dermatologist recommended. I think i will check out cetaphil soon. Thanks for sharing!! 🙂

  3. this seems to be an excellent product since i have same skin type- oily, open pores, acne prone.. but price tag *headbang* *headbang* . I will continue with my sebamed.

  4. Seems to be a nice face wash. Right now TBS tea tree face wash is taking care of my skin very well, will keep this in mind coz v never know how acne attacks us again and again. As u said it costs 10$ *happydance* here, i will utilise dat price tag well . *powder*
