Packaging:

Silk Sugar 1

It’s a navy blue color plastic case with steel band on it, a typical lipstick packaging.  I wouldn’t say I love it, neither do I hate it. It is sturdy, but it could have been a bit more interesting. The Chambor logo on my lipstick has completely faded away, which also means it is below standard quality, we expect more from Chambor Geneva, don’t we?

Price:

Rs. 575/- for 4.5 gm of product.

Shade:

Silk Sugar 2

I wanted to buy a Chambor lipstick.  I was eyeing it since I was in college and during those days Chambor was a new brand in the market and these were one of the best lipsticks, especially the “Powder Matte” range was a big hit and it still is. So finally, when I went to buy, I was looking for an MLBB shade, but as it always happens, I came back with something else.  I wanted to buy “Silk Woods,” but when I tried it at the counter, it washed me out, so came back with a darker one. It’s a chocolaty brown shade.  When I look at my swatch, it reminds me of Hershey’s Kisses or Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Silk 😛 The brown isn’t dark at all, but it is not an MLBB shade. I believe this shade will suit more on medium fair to dusky skin tones.

Silk Sugar 3

P.S.- I am a medium fair skinned girl, but because I swim regularly I am tanned, shows in the lip swatches 🙂

Staying Power:

I am a bit disappointed when it comes to the staying part, although I haven’t timed on it, but I am quite sure this lipstick does not stay for more than 3 hours, and if you happen to eat your grub or have water in between, then it is going to fade even sooner.  It fades evenly without leaving any tint behind, which I appreciate.

Silk Sugar 4

Fragrance:

Has a vanilla+coconut fragrance, it isn’t very prominent, but I prefer my lipstick to be odourless.

Texture:

This is the best part! It is so light and silky. It does not feel heavy on the lips. I never apply just a single swipe of the lipstick, I always apply 2-3 swipes, but it still maintains a light and silky feeling. I want my lipstick to be moisturizing because I don’t prefer to apply lip balm underneath. I like my lips to stay hydrated and I feel a buttery looking lipstick is always more appealing than a dry matte one. I wouldn’t say this lipstick is buttery smooth, but be rest assured this lipstick will not make your lips dry unless you have chapped and extremely dry lips. It does not settle into fines lines after fading.

Lips

Pigmentation:

It is not sheer and is decently pigmented; one swipe will give good enough coverage.

Pros of Chambor Silk Touch Lipstick – Silk Sugar:

  • Silky texture.
  • Does not feel heavy on the lips.
  • Keeps lips hydrated.
  • Fades evenly without leaving a tint behind.
  • Does not settle into fine lines.
  • Decently pigmented.

Cons of Chambor Silk Touch Lipstick – Silk Sugar:

  • Staying power could have been better.
  • Packaging does not seem to be good; I want the Chambor logo on my lipstick.
  • Would have preferred it to be odourless.
  • Price is high, when I compare this with Maybelline or Faces which come in same/better texture and shades.

Would I Buy Chambor Silk Touch Lipstick – Silk Sugar?

Yes, I would like to try another shade from pink family of this range.

IMBB Rating:
