Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow Murano

Product Description Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow :

  • Four eye shadows in one compact. Coordinated quartet of shades in wet/dry formula.
  • Shade combinations ranging from matte to frost to satin for multiple looks, contrasting or complementary.
  • Apply dry for subtle shadowing. Slightly moistened applicator gives a more intense shade.
  • Organic polymer derivatives ensure smudge-proof long wear, particularly in high temperature or humidity.
  • Dermatologist tested. Ophthalmologist tested. Safe for contact lens wearers.
  • For a soft, natural look, use a single shade with graduated intensity. For a more sophisticated look, apply lighter shade from lashes to brow, medium shade on the lid, medium-dark shade in the crease and deepest shade to outer corner of lid. – Bergdorf Goodman

Price : Rs 2900

Chanel Eyeshadow quad comes in a black velvet pouch, just like all other Chanel products.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres - 16 Murano

The interlocked Chanel C in white is engraved on the black scratch-proof casing of quad. The packaging is quite simple and classy.

Chanel Eye Quadra Shades

I have a quad called 16 Murano. There are 3 greens of different gradients in the quad and a fresh shimmery pink colour for highlighting .

Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow Murano

  • The light green is a frosty light greyish green,
  • The medium green is a satiny medium toned greyish green
  • The dark green is a black based eyeshadow with teal green shimmer.
  • The pink is  a light pink shimmery colour. Best for highlighting.

Chanel 16 Murano

All the 4 Eyeshadow in the Chanel Quad are buildable. Pink being the lightest needs a bit of work to show up. It shows as a  a light wash of colour, which I like. I cannot carry of pinks on my eyes. This being so sheer just gives a light wash of colour without making my eyes look pinky or ill.The darkest teal green is the prettiest in the Murano Quad.

The swatches that you see below are two swipes of colour but the pink needed 4 to 5 swipes for it to show.

Chanel Murano Swatches

I have mostly worn Murano during evening for good 5-6 hours and the colours don’t budge, crease or fade out. I do apply an eye shadow primer but even after hours the colours look fresh and nice on eyes. There is little or no fall oout while applying eyeshadows.

I personally think that Murano cannot be worn easily by most women with brown complexions. All the 4 colours belong to a cool family. So you might have to mix and match the shades with other colours to get some warmth on your eyes.

You may do a  soft day time look with this or a full on smokey eye with Murano. It does justice to both the looks.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres
Quality wise I think the eyeshadows are excellent. There are two soft sponge applicators that come along with the quad. They might do a good job for small eyes but I prefer to use brushes.

The only thing that I don’ like about these eye shadows is that they are quite powdery so they kind of make a mess around the quad after every application.

And here is the step by step tutorial of look I generally do with the Chanel Murano Eye  Shadow Quad:

  • Step 1 : Apply Eyeshadow base
  • Step 2: Line your upper lash line with a soft black pencil. You don’t have to perfect with the application because we are going to smudge it.
  • Step 3: Take the darkest green colour form the Murano Quad and go over the black liner while smudging it softly. Create the outer V with the same dark teal eyeshadow.
  • Step 4: Take a flat brush and apply the darkest shade in the outer third of the eye.
  • Step 5: Mix the lighter and the medium shade on a brush and fill the inner 2.3 rd of the eye.
  • Step 6:Take the dark eye shadow and apply it on the lower lash line connecting it with the outer V of the eye lid. Keep the dark colour only on the outer corner. Then take the lighter shade and apply it on the inner coner till the middle of the lower lash line.
  • Step 7: Apply the pink highlighter on your brow bone.
  • Step 8: Curl your lashes and apply mascara. Voila! :)

Here is the final look.

Rati…awesome as always! Saw this at the counter and wasnt sure if it was for my kind of colour..and you just confirmed it…but it looks great on you :-) I wish Chanel would give brushes instead of those sponge applicators..is that asking for too much?

Reply

Rati August 2, 2010 at 11:41 am

Corrected thank you. :)

No that’s not asking for too much. Both Lancome and Estee lauder include brushes, Chanel surely can. And there is a little brush in their duo palette. It’s quite useful and when I am carrying it around, I don’t need to carry separate brushes.

Murano colours are pretty cool. But look for other shades. The quality is top class. :)

Hey Rati,

Really liked the finished look. The colors look great. You have done a very neat job of the colors. Look beautiful. I have never tried the channel eyeshadows though have tried their highlighters and blush. They do not look too shimmery or metalic. If its  from you I will try it out

Reply

Rati August 2, 2010 at 11:54 am

Anshu, thank you. :)

Only pink is a very shimmery one and is best if you use it during the night or evening. Rest three are not very shimmery and look pretty good. My only suggestion would be to pick up different colours that you can wear easily and use a lot. Murano, though a gorgeous quad, is the kinds that you would look for occasions to wear.

I will definitely give it a  . I love how satiny and neat the eye shadows look on eyes. :)

the colours are looking good on the eyes but i don’t think they are true to the colours in the pan. they look quite different, don’t you think? i mean it looks like you have black smokey eyes? or is it just that the photos that have turned out this way?

Reply

Rima Kaur August 2, 2010 at 1:51 pm

by the way, the maybelline colossal has started clumping now. it didn’t work for long then, did it? except for the colorsensationals, i’m never gonna buy anything from maybelline now. the eye pencils, eye shadows and now the mascara are total crap! :(

oh gawdd!! I have never heard a single bad review about the colossal volume mascara. Don’t know about the piece that you got. :((

Which eyeshadow did you use. I just have a single maybelline chai latte quad , which I totally like.

Reply

Rati August 2, 2010 at 1:54 pm

Rima, it’s not a very green green eyeshadow quad . The colours are more blackish-greyish green. The darkest green is more like a blackish teal green colour. The swatches show the exact colour.

Photos could be better, I can say that. :)

Reply

Rima Kaur August 2, 2010 at 2:08 pm

the manufacturing/expiry date is absolutely fine, i store it well, i use it well. dunno what’s happened. the situation isn’t SO bad, it’s just that i can’t swipe as much mascara in one go as i could earlier.
i have the time for wine quad. it’s ok, just that i wouldn’t want to invest my money in those shadows again.
photos can always be better, eh! ;)

I am hating the colossal volume for the single fact that its kinda stickey and even my coconut cannot remove it completely. Yikes! How do you remove it ? Plus I dont see any colossal volume afterall..i just get nice flirty lashes.

Jane August 2, 2010 at 4:13 pm

hehhahahahahaha lemme stop laughing first!!!! :D:D:D
i have a small bottle of vaseline’s something something lotion lying about so i use that to remove the mascara. i too find it to be a teeny tiny bit sticky. also, i’m not looking for colossal volume at all, so i’m not fussed whether the mascara works well in that department. :)

Rati, I love greens..but I think you are right that these greens are difficult for warm skin tones to pull off… :-(

Swatched the Enigma quad this weekend…but it was just way too shimmery…:-( although the texture was great
