Chifure Lip Liner And Lipstick Y Review

I am going to India for 2 weeks and I am so excited! Not excited about the heat though. Anyway, getting back to the review, Chifure has been a drugstore brand which I have not explored until now. As for lip products, they have 6 ranges in total! That is huge for just a single counter. So you will basically be spoilt for choice. I picked up a liner and lipstick just to test out the brand. Let’s see more about it!

Packaging: The packaging of the lipstick is slim line type and that of the liner is twist up type. The lipstick comes in a navy blue rectangular case with a black rim. It has the words Chifure written on the lid. The liner comes in an off-white tube with the shade name written on one side. Even though these might not be the prettiest things to look at, they are functional and very travel friendly.

My Experience With Chifure Lip Liner And Lipstick Y :

Shade: Both products are named rose (lipstick is 251 Rose and liner is 272 Rose) but they differ slightly in colour. The lipstick is a true mauve with purple undertones. This shade is absolutely gorgeous. It pulls a little purple on the lips, which I love love. I am crazy about mauve with a purple undertone shades.

As for the liner, it is also mauve but a bit deeper in shade. You can build it upto a deep plum shade. It does not have that purply undertone that the lipstick seems to have. So if you were to layer these two together, the overall look will be deeper than if you were to use the lipstick alone. They pair very well together. There are 6 colours in the liner range and 9 colours in the lipstick Y range.

Texture: Since the lipstick is creamier than the liner, it feels more comfortable to wear on its own. But together they feel moisturising on the lips. I don’t feel the need to use any other products along with these two.

Ease of application: Because the liner is a twist up type, there is no need to sharpen it. It becomes very travel friendly and easy to apply on the go. The pencil is quite narrow, so you can get sharp lines. As for the lipstick, it is slim line and cut at an angle, and so always tends to maintain that sharpness which the traditional bullet type lipstick loses after it gets used a bit.

Pigmentation: The lip liner pleasantly surprised me. It has a one-swipe pigmentation. The lipstick has somewhere between sheer and good pigmentation, so needs to be built up to show up on my tan skin tone. But as I mentioned before, the liner looks a mauve/plum shade but can be built up to a deep plum.

Finish/Staying Power: Both have satin finish. The lipstick will disappear if you eat or drink because of the slight creaminess, so no surprises there. The lip liner lasts a bit longer and so makes a great base for any lipstick. But both products need touching up.

Pros of Chifure Lip Liner:

• Thin and compact packaging – travel friendly.
• Twist up – does not require a separate sharpener.
• Very good pigmentation.
• Easy to apply.
• Very inexpensive.
• Colour can be built up to a deep plum.
• Not very matte and drying.
• Unscented.

Cons of Chifure Lip Liner:

• Not great staying power – definitely better than the lipstick though.

Pros of Chifure Lipstick Y:

• Slimline design.
• Easy to apply.
• Easy to carry around.
• Good variety of colours to choose from.
• Inexpensive.
• Creamy on the lips.
• Unscented.

Cons of Chifure Lipstick Y:

• Needs building up to show – average pigmentation.
• Not great staying power.

Would I Recommend Chifure Lip Liner and Lipstick Y?
Even though both these products are inexpensive, I would recommend the liner more than the lipstick.
