Hey guys,
For a long time I wanted to try chocolate facial just for its delicious smell. So, I went ahead and made one at home. This is a chocolate scrub-cum-pack and would be highly effective for people with dry skin and/or in winters. Wonder why I didnβt come up with this before this winter season! Well, the ingredient list is going to make you wonder whether you are going to bake them or apply them! π .Β I applied it on my face first and then seeing the positive effects wanted to try it as body scrub as well. So, in the weekend I applied it on my body. Works great there as well. Read on to know the details.
Face Scrub:
Ingredients:
- Fresh Cream- 1 tbsp. This can be homemade as well according to your preference.
- Unsweetened cocoa powder- 1/2 tbsp. More the content of cocoa, better it is for your skin. The Hersheyβs one that I used is 100% cocoa.
- Castor sugar- 1 tbsp. Castor sugar is best for using as face scrub as smaller sugar cubes would not be harsh to your skin. This sugar has smaller sugar cubes like that of salt.
Step 1:
Add the sugar and the cocoa powder and mix together.
Step 2:
Now, add the fresh cream and mix them altogether. The scrub is now ready. It looked so tempting that I could not resist myself from tasting it! π
Step 3:
Apply it on face by massaging with your fingers in circular motion. Leave it to dry on your face for 15-20 minutes. This face pack takes slightly more time to dry compared to the regular face pack because of the cream.
Step 4:
After it is dried, remove it with water, rubbing in circular motion again. Pat dry with soft tissue or towel.
It is done. No need to apply any moisturizer because the milk cream has already moisturized your skin.
The face becomes soft and clean and the glow remained for full 2 days for me! π π
Body Scrub:
Ingredients:
- Fresh Cream- 4 tbsp.
- Unsweetened cocoa powder- 2 tbsp.
- Castor Sugar- 6 tbsp.
The quantity of sugar is slightly more than the face scrub,Β as for body more scrubbing is required.
Step 1:
Add the sugar and the cocoa powder and mix together.
Step 2:
Now, add the fresh cream and mix them altogether.
Step 3:
Scrub it in straight vigorous motion. It would work better if applied on dry body. Scrubbing gets a little difficult on wet body because water makes it slippery.
Step 4:
It was difficult for me to wait for it to get dried. So, after scrubbing it all over, I washed it with water. The skin was still a little greasy, but after drying with towel, the skin got completely clean and smooth. And the smoothness remains for days! π π
No need to apply any body lotion as well. The smell of chocolate remains for an hour or so.
There are few things to take care while applying the body scrub:
- Apply it on a day when you are not shampooing your hair or shampoo your hair after washing off the scrub as the cream would make the hair greasy.
- Also, the bathroom and the slippers may become slippery, so be careful.
Benefits of the ingredients used:
Cocoa powder: Cocoa powder is rich in anti-oxidants. It helps in tightening of the skin and makes it soft too.
Fresh Cream: Fresh cream is an excellent moisturizer. The high amount of fat it contains may not be good for your health, but is definitely something that your skin would love to have! π
Castor Sugar: Sugar is a great exfoliator and helps in removing dead skin cells effectively.
I am in love with this scrub and hope you guys like it too!
Happy IMBBing! π
