Neha Bhatt asks:

Hi Fashionistas!!!

I want to ask you a question which comes to my mind quite often. Please tell me which type of handbag I should carry for different occasions. Suppose, I am going for a dinner date, should I carry regular handbag or something sleek like clutch and is it necessary to carry some bling bling purse if I am going to attend a marriage function.

  1. I think it is not necessary to carry a bling clutch; i mean there is no compulsion *hifive* if your saree is already blingy and has all diamond or sttone work then a bling clutch would look too much and vice versa… if your saree is a simple one then you could carry a bling clutch to add a touch of glamour *pompom* and i think for a dinner also a small clutch would do a pretty good job as you do not need to stuff in a lot and mostly big bags are good for travelling *happydance* *happydance* however it depends upon what you like the best *hifive* *hifive*

  2. Basically a hand bag should compliment your outfit. The colour and the structure of the bag also depends on the outfit. If you are wearing something loose and flowy, better to go for a crossbody or a saddle bag. Skinny jeans go well with totes or hobos. Dresses and sarees go well with clutches. Again occasion and what you want to carry in the bag are also factors in deciding what type of bag to carry. So nothing is fixed really :P. Invest in a good brown/tan big structured bag for office, a tote in navy or blue for casual occasions and a one sleek black clutch and one blingy clutch for dates and marriages 🙂 Hope this helps 🙂

  3. I would prefer to carry a cluth that compliments the dress I am wearing and is large enough to carry essentials like Kajal, lipstick/gloss and smalll comb for emergency fixes. Afterall its a date *happydance*

  4. Hi Neha, well I don’t have this much fashion sense but yeah I do know lil bit of this handbag fashion, if you are going on a dinner date carry a clutch that is subtle like with neutral colors, on marriage carry bling bling clutch like as attractive as possible, during the day if you are going on a date then carry a huge handbag, basically nights are for clutch and day for handbag.

  5. i personally prefer clutch / small potli bag for occasions. *secret* *secret* *happydance*
big bags are good for traveling *hifive* *happy dance* *happy dance*
